Definitely agree. Borrowed a friends PS4 and even brought the copy of UC4 myself and its very disappointing.

I didn't expect so many boring mission in the first half of the game which is a shame because the locations are very nice and the writing is fantastic, but its the gameplay thats so dull and your talking about over 6 hours of this stuff. Its a complete waste of otherwise great locations and enjoyable story. Worst of all, where are the fucking setpieces. Uncharted 2 was mindblowing in this department. I'm 1/4 or 1/3 through ad haven't seen shit.

It starts to pick up on the Avery cathedral mission, but so far, there is nothing here that you can't do in ROTR. ROTR isn't perfect, but for me, the gameplay, exploration and even setpieces are way better than Uncharted 4 from what I've played. The jeep mission looks fun though, can't wait to get to that section but something tells me the remainder of the mission will be a chore till then.

I think your problem is that you were expecting Uncharted 2 (which ROTR was looking to emulate) and a franchise that no longer cares anymore and is trying to move on. They want to put the story to rest in the best way possible and this is where they succeed where other sequel based franchises fail. They focused on closure. They aged Drake so they could retire him. Tomb Raider will never be aged because Square cannot survive without star players. Sony can afford to drop drake.
