Forums - Nintendo - It seems that former NoA employee Alison Rapp *may* be a prostitute

I really don't know which side of the whole Gamergate war is worse. Both sides relentlessly harass and slander members of the opposition, both turn a blind eye to cyber-bullying or even justify it when it serves their cause, both invoke McCarthyist lynch mob hysteria, (Simply replace "communist" with "Misogynist and "SJW") and both are so childish and vindictive that it beggars belief that there's a single grownup among the lot.

Oh well this is ironic isn't it. A feminist working as a prostitute.

Also, people like to hate on big companies like Nintendo for doing something like firing an 'innocent little girl' and then being quiet about it. In this case Nintendo was actually protecting her future career options by being quiet despite her own violations against Nintendo's policy. I had a feeling the story wasn't complete from the beginning. We should stop jumping to conclusions this quick. I hope Alison and her stupid feminist supporters feel pretty ridiculous right now.

The entire situation was created by nutjob group who thought she somehow stopped the boob-slider in Xenoblade and decided it was worth it to try to ruin her life, even though she wanted the same feature they themselves were pissed off about (here's a pro-tip next time morons -- mid-level part-time employees at NOA don't have shit to do with such decision making, NOA/NOE in general have dick all say in most of Nintendo's decisions to begin with).

Yeah it couldn't possibly have been GG types that dug into her personal life and brought this to Nintendo. I somehow doubt Nintendo is in the business of spying on their own employees to make sure they're not involved in salacious acitivies outside when punch in for work and punch out.

I dont think any of this escort stuff was known before she was fired though. She had some lewd pictures on twitter with mentions of photoshoots and a amazon wishlish with lingerie clothing you could buy her but thats pretty much it. Although i agree that after all the GG stuff a while back Nintendo probably took note of her.

As I said before, I understand that she was fired if she had a second job like this. With that being said, they should stop digging in her life now. This is getting ridiculous. They've achieved what they wanted, now let it be, bloody hell.

So who thinks Polygon or Kotaku will cover this?

The problem with covering it is

1.) It has nothing to do with video games.

2.) It serves no purpose than to further the cyber-bullying that's been going on.

i heard neogaf was banning people for mentioning it?

1) The original claims of "online harassment" had nothing to do with video games either. It is customary to update a story with any relevant information once you've covered it. Given that this is probably what she was fired for, it is relevant.

2) It serves the purpose of clarifying their earlier mistaken narrative. And still, this is Kotaku. Nearly every time they go near social issues, they do nothing but further cyber-bullying. They just only care about that when it's someone who they consider on their "side", especially if it's a woman.

Obviously no-one should be attacking her because of this though. I hope no-one does. There's nothing to be gained from that and I don't think there's anything wrong with being a hooker, or whatever she is. Attack lazy gaming media that cares more about politics than truth though. Nothing to be lost there.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's true - every tyranny tries to silence voices of those who don't agree with their ideology, and GAF is promoter of this latest brand of social justice dogma.

They banned 1 guy a while back for disagreeing that a game's sexy characters were morally wrong.

Of course they are!
