Honestly, probably 4 gb, maybe 8gb for handheld. 80gb, maybe 120 gb for Console. Tops of 160gb

Consider that Nintendo had the first console that had day and date parity with all retail and digital games with the Wii U says otherwise. Sony and MS didn't go day and date parity until after Nintendo bespite their consoles having massive hard drives. However, I do agree that Nintendo puts far more emphasis on energy efficiency than MS or Sony but it's not related to their policy on digital distribution. |
That is true, I hadn't considered that. I guess Nintendo did make the biggest leap when it comes to digital, but frankly they came from far with the Wii.
I hope Nintendo will go all-in with the NX, because that's the only right thing to do in their situation. But I have doubts, I think the NX will be half-arsed again like the Wii U. It's going to be interesting to watch for sure.

That is the biggest lie I've read in a LONG time.
| SpokenTruth said: Games became available for sale via retail and via the eShop on the same day. Before the Wii U, Sony and MS still had a very staggered digital distribution release schedule compared to their retail release schedule. |
Wow, I didn't even know this.
| SpokenTruth said: Sorry man but it won't be a digital only console. There is just too much incentive to maintain a joint physical + digital distribution sysm. Keep in mind that CD's and DVD's/Blu-ray's are still being sold despite the popularity of downloadable and streaming systems. And don't bring up the patent. I can match that with 100 patents that they file every year that never materialize. Look up their patents on holographic storage. |
Is this insider info or are you just speculating? Because I'm 100% sure it'll be digital only. There is more incentive to be digital only.
I don't need to bring up the patent. The patent is literally the least relevant indicator that the NX will be digital only. I can bring up My Nintendo being quoted by Iwata as being a core aspect of the NX platform, My Nintendo which only rewards and awards digital purchases and content. I can bring up a quote by Miyamoto explaining how digital media and specifically downloading software is what ushered the change to forming a unified platform. I can bring up Reggie dodging the question of if physical media will stay by saying that there will always be a physical "thing," but not talking about media. I can talk about how the unified platform Nintendo has confirmed for years won't work with physical media when a handheld literally cannot accept the type of disc media home consoles use as a standard.
It's going to be digital only. And it's going to be glorious.
Nintendo has a history of short changing their default memory going all the way back to the Gamecube. That said, they REALLY cannot afford to go with dumb low capacity flash memory anymore. 500 GB hard drive minimum.

Me neither.
Weird that Nintendo set that standard, you always hear how behind they are digitally.
Maybe it was retail influence that delayed the HDs digital releases, and Nintendo cared less.
Size of memory definitely affect on price of console, I dont want big memory for NX, it's much better console have great support for huge range of Micro/SD cards, USB Flash/HDD...I would be very satisfied with 128GB.

Memory or storage? And consoles didn't have built in storage until the 7th generation....so all the way to the Wii. |
How big was the Wii storage anyway?
Gambling a bit here, but I'm hoping for 1TB. Its 2016 for godsake's...
Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
