Forums - Nintendo - "Alleged" photo of NX controller "leaked": We might as well discuss this now

How can you tell if the analog sticks can move or not from a static photo though?

The groove that should exist between the ball of the analogue stick and the surrounding casing is non existent. There is no indent visible, it appears to be one piece of plastic.

Yes but lets think abut a "force feedback joystick" functionally for a moment, it probably would have to be "surrounded" or "cushioned" by something to exert "push back" force. In that sense maybe that look of the joysticks makes sense. I dunno.

The guy mentions specifically force feedback joysticks, haptic buttons, and scrolling shoulder buttons.

Please stop using sound logic I had finally convinced myself that this might possibly be fake.

IF it's real my guess is Nintendo will allow people to buy physical button "clip ons" for the controller, they could just be transparent plastic that would cost like 20 cents to manufacture.

Still the oval shaped screen for the sake of having an oval shaped screen seems like a large gimmick to me, one that's probably expensive, though we know for a fact they have a deal with Sharp for free form LCDs.

Looooool. This is as fake as a NX leak can be.

You do know that last gen when Wii was at 40 mill.. PS3 was at 18 mill right.. nothing is set in stone..

And also this

3DS: 58,8 mill.

Vita: 13,6 mill.

Dont know if you just like to talk..  but I have seen all generations.. and if theire is one thing that is a fact.. is that most people buy consoles like other electronic producs.. and only a litle handful of gamers read and talk videogames like we do..

When "normal" people buy a console (or theire parents do) mostly they have seen some in tv or media.. They look at whats infront of them.. what it offer/games.. and whats the price is.. (like most people dont have special preference when they get a new phone.. dvd recorder.. or a dish washer)

If you still think Sony have all future videogaming safely in a lock.. ok.. be happy.. (rest my case)

Why would any consumer apart from a diehard Nintendo fan by a Nintendo console over a PS4 though?

The only time Nintendo beat Playstation in a console race was when they came up with a wild card that up-ended the whole industry. Such things are not easy to come by and can't just be conjured up on demand, as evidenced by Wii U's failure.

Look again at what I whote before.. (Most handheld and homeconsole buyers look at what they get.. not what brand.. simple as that)

It may be hard for you to understand if you really like your ps4..  But it is posible to make a better console.. (and if you ask why I think you should see some console history on youtube.. and how every gen has evolved)

And actully.. :) They have been head to head 6 times.. 4 homeconsoles and 2 handheld gens.. Only talking the last 4 times.. (the only ones still selling) Nintendo won 3 and sony 1.

over and out..

Needs real buttons on the face

Haha, how could anyone believe that's real? That's literally the controller from that patent!

I have to admit force feeback sticks and mouse-like analog trigger "balls" on the shoulders sounds pretty cool. And it does look fairly futuristic.

Still leaning fake, but there are details there that make me go "hmmmm". Usually a fake is easy to spot because the fakers will skimp on little details, but this seems to have some little details, like two speaker (?) holes there on the bottom of that pad ... you didn't really have to do that.

I have enough faith in my skills in deductive reasoning to not have to withold judgement. I have used a touch screen before. I have used a device with haptic feedback before. I know what this tech is. I know how it works. I will never come anywhere close to replacing the sensation or responsiveness of a real button.

Dude, I'm starting at it. There is no gap.

I'm calling it a controller because it's obviously based off the patant that was specifically for a controler, not a console unit. It's a controller.

I don't have insider knowledge. I just have a brain, a lot of research, a big ego, and an even bigger mouth. Stick around. You'll come to understand me soon enough.

I never said that it would fully replace the sensation. I stated that lol. I don't think gap is the right word, it seemed like it could slide under. Personally I think that this makes sense as a handheld rather than a controller. I thought the patent said it was supplementary? Suggesting it was another device for the console that could take games on the go. Which I thought would logically be a handheld. Rather than a multi-purpose controller. Which it could be, but you can't please everyone with that.

At least you admit that you have an ego and a big mouth :P I can respect that if you state that xD

Force feedback or not, the ball needs to roll in a socket in order for movement. This is more or less factual. The debate is just whether the ball and socket are 1 conjoined piece of plastic  (I.e can't move- this what my eyes see) or if it's just the angle and they are in fact separate components. Seeing as this a rumour, there is especially strong reason to doubt when an issue so obvious stares you in the face

If it is fake hopefully Nintendo take note of the rolling back buttons. Force feedback and haptic touch screen seem likely already as they've been rumoured before
