The groove that should exist between the ball of the analogue stick and the surrounding casing is non existent. There is no indent visible, it appears to be one piece of plastic. 

Yes but lets think abut a "force feedback joystick" functionally for a moment, it probably would have to be "surrounded" or "cushioned" by something to exert "push back" force. In that sense maybe that look of the joysticks makes sense. I dunno. 

The guy mentions specifically force feedback joysticks, haptic buttons, and scrolling shoulder buttons.
