Yes but if you have a good pc there are more and better reasons to buy a PS4. If not they are still pretty equal actually in moat aspects, with the PS4 being a bit better gamingmachine and the Xone having more and better executed features.

lets look at the actual sales numbers.
which games have been selling the most on xbox one? most composed of games that are also on PC.
So the reason most people bought xbox one(and also ps4) were games that are on PC also.
So, there is a reason for buying a xbox, the same reason people bought it before and the same reason people bought ps4.

yes. I sold my XB1 with no regrets since I can play the games on pc.

But I understand pc gaming and am willing to take the 1 minute needed to optimize my games, which others blow out of proportion and make it seem like it takes forever and is extremely difficult.

Uuuhh... No, most PS4 games are also on PC I think, there are just way more PS4 games that aren't on PC than there are Xbox One games that aren't on PC.

It's a little over 25% aren't on PC.

Yes, there's plenty of reasons why right now (namely their exclusives). In the near future? Who knows. we don't know if Phil is just "talking" or if they are really gonna do all that then to what extent is any of that gonna be done. It just depends and only time will tell.

To play PC games at settings of an xbox one game, you will need at least a $300 rig, excluding monitor, gaming mouse etc, and further money to upgrade parts to play games in a couple of years down the line due to PC games not as well optimized as console games.

So no, gaming PC is not a real alternative to someone who just wants to drop $300 and play games with ease for the next few years or so.

If you have a PS4, there probably isn't much need for an Xbox one now, but I doubt this was ever even an consideration for most playstation gamers.

I say yes if you have absolutely zero knowledge on PC gaming. Otherwise it makes no sense anymore.
