Cereals are grains, grains aren't fit for long term human health, therefore your cereal bowl should stay empty!

Yeah you'll get by, but not optimally, grains are a relatively recent addition to our diet historically, some will do better than others of course, if you really want to know what they do to us long term check that link, if not, then happy grain eating ;)

I think the obscene amount of sugar in most cereals is far less healthy than the grain itself.

People forget that all grains are mostly sugar without the added sweetners, they are mostly carbohydrates (sugars) anyway
All carbohydrates stress insulin production and increase inflamation, whats not used for energy quickly converts to fat, all carbs break down into simple sugars in the body
This issue with grains is not just about carbs (sugar), it's also about the naturally occuring toxins in grains that have long term effects on human health, only fatal in that it may shorten your life due the slow increase in chronic diseases over a persons life, check the link for details if you can stomach it :P

I do this if I can be bothered, as I prefer when none of my cerial gets soggy, but usually it is just too much effort and I'd just put cerial first.
I pour the cereal first, then the milk. I remember that as a kid I used to pour milk first.
Speaking about cereals, I haven't had some in quite a while.

There are very many varying opinions, and this knowledge of what is healthy and unhealthy constatntly changes. Firstly no one truly knows what is good for us (studies often contradict each other), and second it varies greatly across people and especially different cultures (ancestry).
The point is it is not worth following some "food experts" advice. Just eat what what you want, listen to your own body as to what foods you can handle, and try to get a varied diet.
First I pour cereal into a bowl, then I pour milk into the same bowl (close to the edge) and keep pouring at that spot.
Then I eat quickly before it gets all soggy.
My cousin is one of the rare breed that first pours in the milk, and then pours in a small amount of cereal into the bowl, eats the cereal and pours in some more afterwards. She said she does it that way so that the cereal stays crunchy.

Cereal first and always with cold milk... Who does put the milk first or use warm or hot milk? Weirdos...
