 If your Steam account is closed (for whatever reason, like not accepting a new EULA for example) you loose all your games.

i think they mabye wouldnt quite but they would be cheap as f@ck and piracy would also increase

its allready a digital future. There is not one game being released only Physicley like it used to be. Even during the PS360 era games like MGS 4 were not avaible digitaly until last year.

Why you want Physical medium to die off ?

I never said I want to die, but it's easier to me to just buy digital games. On the comfy of my bed, I can just tap a button and start playing. On top of that, the exact amount is charged to my credit card.

I figure that by the time my console becomes beyond repair, emulation would be good enough to run my games.

Depends. If it has DRM, then yes.

If not, it would just drastically reduce my number of purchases, but i probably would put up with it. I don't think i would buy many games at release though.

Currently more expensive, can't get a refund of any kind, can't exchange game you don't like or have completed in exchange for paying less for a new game you do, can't sell games you just don't want to play anymore, buying used game for £10 because the game is out of print yet it's still £55 on digital, hard drive space.

There are more reasons than 'putting a box of a shelf'. Make digital more consumer friendly by allowing some of these things above and maybe it'll become a valid option.

Iv had my Steam account since 2004, it has been more relyable then any console purchase i have made. All my games are playable today with free updates in 2016.

My games cant get lost, Stolen, Damaged, my home storage space increases, i dont have to put the disk in the machine to play it, and i can go anywhere around the world and not have to worry about taking my games with me.

Sorry but iv been collecting games since the 80s. I have no room or the patients with phyical games anymore. Its no longer needed. 

I game because i want entertainment,  not so i can look at a box on my shelf knowing that its mine forever when in fact even phyical copy of games can still be taken away. I own many CD based games that no longer have support though a server. What if Live or PSN go down and you own 500 phyical games and you need a day one patch?

Modern gaming, Yes. Also, Lol at everyone thinking all digital will be cheaper and DRM free. If consoles went all digital I would expect even PC discounts to greatly diminish.

Well they actually can. All they have to do is force you to install a firmware update with a new game (pretty common) and then in that firmware update require your console to phone home to play, or prevent you from playing any game you already own.

Sure, in your current PS4's offline state it will play all the games you own right now and play them offline right now, but that could literally change with any new game release. There's absolutely nothing stopping them from locking your console down and preventing you from playing any future games from this point forward unless your console is connected to the internet. If your PS4 is connected to the internet they could push an update to your PS4 that would lock it down as I type this.

Will Sony do that? No of course not. But they certainly can. So can Microsoft. So can Valve.
