I honestly don't see this catching on either way, I think the price will deter people.

^this so much. I don't see VR getting popular with THOSE prices...

Inb4 Oculus will obviously sell better since there are way more PCs capable of handling the device than there are PS4 out there...

Oculas Rift, if it has good software.

PC gamers will spend $500 on something like Oculus. The games are starting to look really good.

PS VR will sell better initally, but Oculus should out do it in the end. Right now I am looking at this as Android (Oculus) vs iOS (Sony). Sony is going to come out the gate with a better product, that is easier to use, eaiser to develop for, and more agile.

PS VR will spark the VR fire, and Sony will build a giant base around thier ecosystem. On the other hand Oculus will come out slow, and will face a lot of issues due to the nature of running in the wild west PC arena. In time, however, the issues will phase out as cheap PC's and MAC's become powerful enough to utilize the tech. Do to the larger varity of options, and that fact that no matter how much better one product is than everything else, you can never get everyone to buy into it.

By 2020, I see PSVR setting around 80 - 100M and Oculus in the 30 - 40M range. By 2025, PS VR should be around 250M sold with Oculus reaching about 400M.

PlayStation VR for sure, and if they play their cards right they might even lead the VR playing ground for some time. They are going to have +/- 35 million PS4 sold by the time PSVR lands. I think that they are going to undercut the PC versions of VR and they are going to be the only real place to experience affordable VR on consoles for a while.

How big VR is going to be in the end is anybody's guess...

Install base and hardware are irrelevant here,

In other words, PC and PS4 are basically interchangeable with regard to platforms concerning VR.

price and software are going to be the only thing that matters, so its really the company behind it that matters.
Its Sony vs Facebook (IIRC), Idk how Facebook is gonna handle it so I'd go with PSVR for now, simply because they have a unified gameplan.

And a unified game plan  will produce a lot more software, then individual developers saying, hey VR is cool why don't we take a chance on it.

That being said, I don't have faith in VR in general. Best Case Scenario, it hits Kinect sales in a 10 year period

The Software support for Oculus Rift is extremely lame as shit ...

Most are either very old or obscure games and some of them are just soulless tech demo's ...

PSVR could very well sell more at first when Facebook doesn't give a damn about doing some developer support ...

SO I guess PC VR will be trash then in terms of, well everything?.

I get that you like PS and all but being real here since OR and well Vive as well are open source in an open market as opposed to a closed one, I cannot get behidn the notion that closed markets>open ones all the time, if that were truly the absolute case then no open markets would ever exist if the closed ones somehow were objectively better and yet that isn't the case at all.

I don't see a console undercutting a PC's form of VR, especially one that isn't competing with PC according to some users on this site and the net in general.
