The only type of event Nintendo ahs is a direct, and i dont think a direct is the way to show of a new device.

Well, Nintendo did the same with the Wii U back in 2012 and CES .. I guess this time it is true too. Also their source is the same that "revealed" it when Wii U was meant to be shown to invited people at CES in 2012.

Nope! It was revealead at E3 '11 under the codename Project Cafe! :P All or the overwhelming majority of Nintendo brand new hardware has been disclosed at an E3...

Nah, I'm not buying it.

It'd be unusual for Nintendo to reveal their new console at something other than E3.

They first announced the Wii U at E3 11 not CES 12

Wii U was shown in the same way it's how we started getting the Wii U rumours (at the time code named Stream).

It was unveiled at CES behind close doors just because we haven't seen it yet doesn't mean it hasn't been shown.

Yeah, and E3 11 had a prototype in the show, if I remember right. I thought that the "real" and not prototypic WiiU was shown at close door on CES. I know, it's highly unlikely because they didn't show anything about it yet, I'm just teasing a little :P
