Forums - Gaming - When was the last time a game's graphics blew your mind?

GTA3, when the game starts off and you get to control the character... actually getting a full 3d Liberty City to cause havoc in, I still remember just how amazed I was at the amount of detail that Rockstar put into that game, nothing else has come close really since that was just such a massive leap from psone/N64 sandbox games.

I somewhat recently acquired a Vectrex. The vector graphics glow, they're super crisp and images scale perfectly. You simply have to experience it.

Mark from CGR would be proud.

Portal VR edition.

DriveClub: Rain was amazing as well.

The Order 1886 - Sliding down the side of the blimp
Driveclub - Anything with rain
Just Cause 3 - Fields of flowers and insane explosions
GTA5 on PS3/360 - All of it. I still can't believe the level of detail they pulled off on such old hardware

He will continue to make reviews but much less frequently.

The Order, hands down. It was very well polished in the graphic department, Ive got a gaming PC and havent seen a game as beautiful as the order as of today.
2 years before I would have said Metro2033 for PC.

I actually get blown away pretty frequently by a lot of older games, it's pretty amazing to see how good some games' graphics were for their time.

Yeah I think I more often find myself wowed by what older games accomplish on their hardware; stuff like Rogue Squadron 2 on Gamecube, God of War 2 on PS2, Batman Return of the Joker on NES, Conker on both N64 and original Xbox, etc.
