Well even if nx does what wii u did. Nintendo would profit so your entire theory is flawed and even if nintendo is in a dire state i dont think they'll merge with any other company

If Nintendo was forced to merge with Sony or Microsoft, which one would it be? | |||
Sony | 281 | 80.98% | |

They will probably never have to.
But if it comes to that, they should release their games on Steam.
Sorny.

Bolded is simply not true. You also don't have any basis for your first claim.
None of the above
Merger with Sega would be my option. Dreamcast Games on the Virtual Console => Instant System seller. May also add SNK Playmore for good measure
Plus, if these 3 companies would merge together, Nintendo could almost do without third party publishers, considering how many IP they have taken together

My most played game on Steam is Rocket League....

What does that have to do with shooters being the only games people are excited for on steam? =__=

You really think a Super Smash Bros, Splatoon or The Legend of Zelda HD port wouldn't sell on Steam?
I wouldn't mind either, but I think Sony would provide less interference. But on the flipside it would probably lead to a monopoly on the game industry because I don't see how Microsoft would be able to stay relevant if they're struggling against Sony as is. Give the Playstation brand Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Splatoon, Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, Fire Emblem, Metroid, etc. on top of all the third party support they already have plus Uncharted, Last of Us, God Of War, etc. and it would pretty much render XBox moot. It would also effectively make franchises like Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, and Yo-Kai Watch exclusive.
