If there are any artistic looking games on either of those systems, they don't sell well at all! Nothing like how Nintendo titles sell on their own platforms. A game like Pikmin would be lucky if it sold 300-400,000 copies on PS4. These systems are 3rd party driven and only mainstream games sell in big numbers, to where even Sony's 1st party games don't outsell the yearly 3rd party games. So how would you expect Nintendo to come in and do on Sony's platform what they themselves can not?

Nintendo would be an extremely niche brand on Xbox or Playstation and to think that every core Nintendo fan will go out and buy a Playstation or Xbox to play Nintendo games is reaching. Believe it or not, having more choices in the gaming industry helps to keep each company competitive. This is the whole reason that Sony got overtaken in the electronics segment, because competition brought in cheaper comparable products of similar quality.

So your argument once again relies on Sony/MS forcing Nintendo to make realistic Mario, despite how stupid of an idea that is, and that then leading to Nintendo fans quitting gaming alltogether.

Why would Nintendo games stop selling just because they switched platforms? You think Mario, one of the biggest IPs on earth would be completely destroyed just because the console it was released on changed name from Nintendo to Playstation or Xbox?

Nintendo wouldn't become a niche brand just because they were on Playstation or Xbox. The demographic and the fanbase Nintendo appealsto wouldn't seize to exist just because the games was on a non-Nintendo console.

I agree with this especially the first statement because look at games like sunset overdrive and infamous 2nd sun/1st light. They are pretty colorful games. Alos it won't be a smart business decision to make Mario look realistic.

MS. They have the stronger western presence and that is what Nintendo is missing.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

It is NEVER going to happen but if it did it would absolutely be Sony. Nintendo going 3rd party is possible though

Third party is a big no no, and Sony would be fine, as long as they don't make Nintendo's games realistic looking, or some other stupid idea.

If the next Nintendo system fails Nintendo IS GOING to go third party.

It depends on the circumstances too, I think simply by virtue of being Japanese, Nintendo would choose Sony.

But if MS were to say for example "look we're getting kinda tired of the whole game business, we'll stake you guys and you agree to take our studios under your wing and use Windows OS. Oh and here take a big fat money bag we have a bunch of these lying around." ...

OK in that case, I think Nintendo would choose Microsoft's offer.

If the deal was

- MS moves back to focus on their Steam-like PC killer. Nintendo agrees to allow some of their games on this service (so Nintendo games on PC, but only if you use MS' service ... not Steam).

- MS then exits from the phyiscal home console scene. Nintendo will make the console box and Microsoft's studios will support that box with franchises like Halo and Minecraft w/Nintendo exclusive DLC and Rare's franchises return also.

- Nintendo console and handheld will run a custom version of Windows OS.

- While MS will have advisorial role and assist in marketing and third party relations, Nintendo has the final say on all big decisions. Nintendo also controls all royalty fees from the physical console/handheld platforms. Lets be honest MS doesn't need the money from the game business, it's peanuts to them.

Yes, IF it were to occur...with a .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance, I'd go with Sony. But it would be hard teaming up with a monster that you created. XD

Yeah, sure, let's have them make LESS money than they are now.

They will make less revenue but they would make way more in profit. Profit is more important than revenue.......

You can't get a grittier Mario than Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, though.

I wish Nintendo would make a new Paper Mario game in the style of TTYD..

You and me.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Gonna go with the Japanese company, even though this will never happen. They'd just probably retreat into their own handhelds with a lot of games that have f2p models.
