Wether or not it's a waste of money is squarely up to Sony. If the deal provides a significant financial return over a long term period, I'm sure they'd be more than satisfied, regardless of what 1 user on VGChartz says about what they should've done, without knowing how much money was spent and how big the return was, is, and will be.
