Rpgs do tend to crank up the grinding over time and it is a long game by all accounts so, at over 20 hours in, there's probably a lot lot more to come. Regardless, it's sold me on picking up the sequel some day. |
In my experience the game only cranks up the grinding midway (but the story also picks up then), and then it rapidly declines (unless you're trying to 100% it.) More people have problems with being overleveled in XBC than being underleveled. But that is mostly because the side-quests give a lot of experience if you do them, which you said you have no interest in.
