Forums - Nintendo - Xenoblade Chronicles is a Masterpiece!

But I've not finished it yet (Mario maker and new guitar distractions) and it's quite possible I won't like it as much, later on. Rpgs do tend to crank up the grinding over time and it is a long game by all accounts so, at over 20 hours in, there's probably a lot lot more to come. Regardless, it's sold me on picking up the sequel some day.

In my experience the game only cranks up the grinding midway (but the story also picks up then), and then it rapidly declines (unless you're trying to 100% it.) More people have problems with being overleveled in XBC than being underleveled. But that is mostly because the side-quests give a lot of experience if you do them, which you said you have no interest in.

I'm still in the progress of beating it, but I agree, it's amazing.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I played the Wii version ans I love this game. One of my favs so far

I think there are some flaws, the bigest of them being that the sidequests are generic and repetitive, and after playing the Witcher and seeing how sidequests should always be done on RPGs I cant quite acept it. The battle system is also not very good imo, but overall its a great game, Id give it an 8/10.

Nice that you liked it so much tough, and I agree the OST is phenomenal in this game.

Greatest masterpiece in the last 10 years

No doubt it's the best RPG I've played in the last years.

Currently forcing myself through it. It's pretty decent. But I'm really glad I didn't get a New 3DS for it

For some reason, the battle system never resonated with me. Exploration was cool, the setting was nice and the overall thing looked great, but I just got bored with it.

I agree with the battle system.

Although I wouldnt say its boring.

Music and the environment were the highlights for me. Voice acting was cool. Storyline and characters were pretty good too.

But the combat yeesh :x - oh and the side quests ugh, reminds me of Ni No Kuni lol.

Wish they would have remade it in HD for the WiiU rather than wasting it by downgrading it on 3DS.

I am hoping for a future HD remake on the next Nintendo system, I am glad they did a 3DS version of the game though - makes for a good company when traveling =)

Yes it is.

I'm glad you liked it. I played it around a year or so after it launched in the U.S, and despite being aware of the hype, it still blew me away. It's not often a game can do that for me. It's easily my favorite RPG of the Wii/PS3 gen, and probably the best non-strategy RPG I've played.

Really excited for X to come out.
