I would not really consider those 3D though. Even compared to Mario 64. To be honest, despite having a lot of "3D" Mario over the years since Mario Sunshine and Mario 64, I do not really feel like any of it has been what anyone has wanted. Sure, the Mario Galaxies were great and unequaled in their time, but they just were not an open 3D world like Sunshine and 64 were. Hopefully the NX gives us a true Mario 3D game. Could Mario have a huge Zelda like world where he is free to roam and jump on mushrooms and ride a yoshi? How would a game like that work with underground tunnels incorporated into it or huge gunships and real castles to explore? Could they incorporate Luigi's Mansion into it whenever he goes into a ghost level? If you played as Luigi would he get a ghost busting vacumn 3,000? What about flying? Would it be like the over world in Mario 64 where you can go anywhere?

Real 3D Padib. Not this Baby Bullshit we have been force fed. Pardon my French, but I feel like Nintendo has been avoiding the real next gen for a long time. Mario Kart 8 is a push in the right direction, but besides getting online multiplayer right they have nothing else going for it. Exploration, short cuts, fun, etc. Even the anti-gravity is hard to really appreciate because you cannot actually see the worlds around you fly by. Smash Wii U is great! But still stuck in 2D mostly. Same with DKWii U and many other efforts from them. Kirby, Yoshi? 3D, even though they revolutionized it, is something they have been steering clear of for a long time. Galaxy got it, but on a small scale and we could not reallly relish it. Zelda seems to be the only chance we get for true 3D from Nintendo anymore and even that was limited in Skyward Sword. Each area felt like we were trapped in it until we finished it.

The things they could do with Mario if they truly wanted to be the innovative company that they say they are! You think motion control and rumble packs were a stretch that worked? That is nothing compared to what some good ideas could do. Like the upcoming Zelda, if Nintendo was just willing to dream it, anything could happen. But they have to be willing.....like a little Miyamoto as a child when he dreamed of epic battles in the fields. Or as he got older when He picked up gardening and the pikmin that followed. He needs to get his teams to dream like that if they ever want to be as successful as he has been. Until that happens we will continue to get good intentions, instead of GRADE A GTA killing games!
