I dont want Mario Galaxy 3, I would prefered more Mario 3D World 2, but what I really want is Mario 64 2. or something completely new.

Yes, they are were good examples of middle ground, and guess what, bouth games are phenomenal and very popular with great sales.
When asked what extra hardware power would be needed - and whether this meant Nintendo would now wait for its upcoming NX console - Miyamoto was coy:
"Wii U's definitely good enough in terms of hardware performance, it is more the workload of the team. If you look at Star Fox Zero, the TV and GamePad are both rendered in 60 frames, so in total that's 120 frames. It's really just a matter of the CPU speed at this point."
This is interesting, this maybe means that we will have cross platform new Mario 3D game.
That was actually a pretty good and pretty eye opening interview. I understand what they mean with these crossover titles but I'm not sure that I buy it's really the solution for everyone. Quite clearly another game in this ilk (not necessarily Galaxy 3 but along the same lines) is very much in demand. So why not give the fans what they want? Is this not the point of any company?
I understand the drive to innovate, but if it's not desired then is there a point. It goes back to the whole problem that people want innovation and the same at once with Nintendo, but I think whilst there's been some great titles (Splatoon) in the innovative department it's gone too far the wrong way this gen for my personal liking.
Wonder what they will do with NX.
Would it not be possible to contain a game which contains elements of 64, Sunshine and Galaxy? SMG is easily the best of them imo, but ideally, I'd love a game which had the open world of 64 and Sunshine, with some worlds that play like galaxy, some that play like 64 and some that employ FLUDD like Sunshine. All were fantastic games, if they took the positives from each and combined it, it would result in the ultimate Mario game and that would amaze me.
Just give me a free-roaming, challenging 3D Mario game, Galaxy or not, and I'll be happy.

People really need to face the fact that they are not returning to 64 formula because nobody outside of gaming forum wants them anymore. Amazing games, yes. But you expect them to sell in the world where people need to look up the guide for the Portal? Super Mario can't appeal to 'Dark Souls' audience on Nintendo console. Not only that 'Dark Souls' audience is on PS4, but it didn't even carried bloodborne into multi-million. Until Nintendo finds a magical way to make everyone capable enough to actually go practice or think about it a bit before quitting, they will have to stay in the middle ground. |
How can you get lost in 64? I could definitely understand Sunshine, but Mario 64?

I'd be down any direction they take Mario. Have to say I enjoyed all the recent mainstream Mario games apart from 3D Land (3D World was great).

1. Everyone wants SMG3, we have wanted it for years.
2. Why are you addressing a post on an obscure English forum to Miyamoto? This isn't aimed at you in particular, others do stuff like this too. It makes zero sense.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
I hope it's something new, but if it's on the NX then Galaxy 3 would probably blow my mind.
