NX at D1 like all Nintendo console from now, Nintendo for life. :)
Nintendo has actually fairly strongly supported the system, despite a lot of strange comments on these boards that they haven't. the reason for the much smaller library when compared to their other systems is obviously the drastic decrease in third party support
I mean they have done Kirby, Mario 2D, Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Mario Maker, Animal Crossing (not out yet and sort of an off branch game but still), Devil's Third, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, Xenoblade, Pikmin, Bayonetta, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Zelda has been in the works, etc.
maybe their release timing hasn't been fabulous but they have possibly supported their console much more with their own in house developed games than a Sony or Microsoft
no reason to feel disappointed really. I mean if you bought a Wii U with the expectations of a huge library and third party support then that was naive, and if you're not a Nintendo fan then why did you purchase at all? I just don't get how someone couldn't be somewhat satisfied with Smash Bros, Mario installments (Mario Kart especially), Pikmin, Donkey Kong TF. like not thrilled, no, Nintendo hasn't done an AMAZING job with their software this time around especially with the droughts, but they've clearly tried
I think a lot of people take for granted how difficult it is for one company to practically SOLEY push out a library of games for both their console and handheld. Nintendo are unique in this regard, you don't see Sony pushing their own games onto the Vita except for ports mostly
Not really, mainly cause I got the Wii U solely for exclusives, like Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros, and Splatoon.
I got what I came for, so I feel satisfied.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
Considering that each nintendo's console lifespam lasts at least 5 years and Wii U has a great library, I don't feel betrayed neither dissapointed. The only thing I'm really pissed off is the fact that all gaming community believes that NX has only to do with Wii U and it comes to destroy it. Why noone says anything about 3DS? Won't NX hurt 3DS sales? Or will we be less dissatisfied if it's 3DS succesor? On the other hand, I'm sure that I'm going to buy NX. I haven't bought any N console for the last 10 years and after bying Wii U, I will continue to do so.
Am I disappointed that there aren't more games for the system, especially more big games from Nintendo? Sure.
Am I disappointed that I bought the system in the first place? Not at all.
Why? Because between the good retail games that ARE there, and the sheer amount of content available digitally on the eShop (many of which, both VC and indie, you can ONLY get on eShop), I am a satisfied gamer. That does not mean that I do not wish there were a few MORE big retail titles. But surely, if this Zelda game comes even remotely close to living up to it's potential, then that alone will make the system worth it.
I still do not think they will put out the NX next year, as so many people seem to be assuming. They will show it OFF next year, that does not mean it will be out before 2017. Iwata said shortly before he passed that they were committed to giving Wii U owners their money's worth. And I believe that will be the case, with many more retail games between now and 2017. Iwata dying is not going to change that, people like Miyamoto and his other friends in the company will not let it.
So for NOW? I'm content with Wii U. And if Zelda is any sort of amazing? Then I will be HAPPY with it. Either way, I'm not sorry I bought one.
Nintendo has done a good job of supporting Wiiu. The quantity and quality of Nintendo published exclusives is pretty impressive. Howevery, third party support didn't go as planned and that's not something Nintnedo can fix on the Wiiu so i'm eagerly awaiting NX. On a personal level I wouldn't care in fact I'd be happy to see Zelda U being fully moved to the NX since I'd be buying it at launch and think it would be even better for NX if the game was only available on NX.
I don't think you'll find too many of the Nintendo faithfull caring that Nintendo is already talking NX. In fact for me personally it creates some excitement for Nintendo's future during these dark times. The more casual family buyer of Wiiu doesn't educate themselves that much on future consoles so I don't see them caring.
Nope. When Xenoblade, Mario Maker and Zelda are out, there'll be enough Wii U games to last a hell of a long time. I also have a lot of Wii games I still haven't played. And it runs gamecube games with a bit of fiddling. If Zelda is the last big game, which I suspect it will be, I'll be fine with that.
Not really since I got many of the first party games that I expected for it. Very glad Donkey Kong Country lives.
However, I would like for Nintendo to support some other IP's such as Metroid and F-Zero. Also, it doesn't hurt to invest in new IP's since Splatoon turned out very well. In this sense, yes it's disappointing since i's very unlikely we will get these games on WiiU.
