Nintendo has actually fairly strongly supported the system, despite a lot of strange comments on these boards that they haven't. the reason for the much smaller library when compared to their other systems is obviously the drastic decrease in third party support
I mean they have done Kirby, Mario 2D, Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Mario Maker, Animal Crossing (not out yet and sort of an off branch game but still), Devil's Third, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, Xenoblade, Pikmin, Bayonetta, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Zelda has been in the works, etc.
maybe their release timing hasn't been fabulous but they have possibly supported their console much more with their own in house developed games than a Sony or Microsoft
no reason to feel disappointed really. I mean if you bought a Wii U with the expectations of a huge library and third party support then that was naive, and if you're not a Nintendo fan then why did you purchase at all? I just don't get how someone couldn't be somewhat satisfied with Smash Bros, Mario installments (Mario Kart especially), Pikmin, Donkey Kong TF. like not thrilled, no, Nintendo hasn't done an AMAZING job with their software this time around especially with the droughts, but they've clearly tried
I think a lot of people take for granted how difficult it is for one company to practically SOLEY push out a library of games for both their console and handheld. Nintendo are unique in this regard, you don't see Sony pushing their own games onto the Vita except for ports mostly
