Sorry about the trolling but there is copying between all competitors.

Ninty was the first to implement a viable and cheap motion control and make it standard equipment and main controller, but it didn't invent the concept:

Around twenty years later, but still 4-5 years before 7th gen, the first motion controllers made of of a couple of devices, one per hand, were designed and tested on PC, but they were still very expensive. Ninty chose a perfect timing, maybe a small achievement tech-wise, but not a small one for business, to develop and sell the first viable and mainstream solution.

Nintendo is really arrogant imo.
Nobody want to steal anything from them...

Well, it's no secret that if NX is a "home console" that it will be less powerful than the next gen's other consoles and it will use some kind of gimicky controller. I don't know why nintendo thinks that their competitors will try to copy them.  I believe that iwata is just using that as excuse to not to say much about NX and to fluff up their product & company to their shareholders.

The bigger question is: How would this ultimately work out. The NX is gonna launch before the next sony and MS system. Unless they want to wait that long. Their ideas will be stolen anyway. I call BS.

Nintendo own all the secrets to successful hardware. Of course everyone is going to copy exactly what they do, because it's all perfect.

- sony steals but they make it often times better like building rumble pack inside the controller, there are literary games on the N64 which require you to put in the memory card to load and save your game and then switching back the rumble expansion if you want to have it (Quake 2). Not to mention that you need battries which is even more stupid.

The PS1 Dualshock came also with two analog sticks instead one.

- the triggers were invented by sega not microsoft

- the home button was invented by Sony with the PSP

The Rumble pack when modded can run with no batteries. You just can't have 4 controllers with the modded rumble packs, at the same time. That's why the battteries where done. Sony was lucky they didn't have 4 controller ports lol.

If they are going to copy them, they will eventually copy them; they are just delaying the inevitable.

Of course. But a delay can already make a difference. Just imagine if Sony had the Move ready at PS3-Launch. Last Gen would have been a different story.

To be fair, the PS3 was overpriced so the move would of done nothing for it in that situation.

sony did this many times... they updated the psone controller after they saw that analog worked, they made move after the saw motion controlls working on the wii,  rumble, etc, all stolen and implemented without a new generation.

sony is stealing from nintendo all the time... ms atleast try to innovate(mostly by making consoles more like PCs), since sega is death and they cant steal from sega anymore.
