today sales in KOREA,MIDDLE EAST,RUSSIA,CHINA,INDIA,SOUTH AMERICA count big time

also people's spending on entertainment products is much much bigger after APPLE revolution even in USA,EUROPE and JAPAN

back then gaming was hardcore thing and Exclusives didn't do much as it was expected big exclusives will come on PS2 brand

you can clearly see this with 285million console sales last generation plus ANDROID,APLLE and STEAM gaming increase

you should be comparing PS4 with PS2 generation in no way.

And there are no GTA or Slim version that can change this, the PS4 will mever sell more than 2m in a holidays month, or 500k in the summer in the US, like will never sell always 30-50k all week in Japan.

I'm sorry, but the sales says difference ;) Wii sold in 2011 more than 10m, that's not a bad death, is a strong year, and Wii was probabily sell easy >7m in 2012 if was not for WIU, but even if we adding WIU, still, >5m in a year are great.

You've put a lot of work into typing all of that so I'll say good job, but 25-40% of that won't come to fruition.  There is no way that it can sell 140 million.  I think it will top out around 85-95 million due to this gen being shorter than the last one.

i'm betting hard on vr and on morpheus because imo you need gamers and sonys first party studios to kickstart it properly before it'll become a mainstream device in everybodys houshold like tvs are.

Clearly Nintendo overestimated the success they thought they would have with the 3ds/WiiU.

3DS was mainly touted becuase DS success but Gameboy wasn't as succesful and PSP failed and also touchscreen tech coolness helped it a bit.Also Apple and Android success meant 3DS wan't gonna be anywhere near DS

NX acutally seems to be somthing BIG as Nintendo seems to have some sense kicked into them BIG Time but we will have to see with Nintendo's past and SONY dominance and APPLE,GOOGLE,SAMSUNG,ANDROID entering the market and XBOX also dominating hardcore gamers

Second bold: Nope people who want to play the GTA brand will simply migrate to the platform it's available on. Didn't the 7th generation show that people have no problem migrating to the consoles that provides the games they want to play? No brand is immortal and anyone of them can rise and fall at any given time.

not really,thats only if both consoles are equally successfull and XBONE seems to be nowhere near that and looks like will be even fursther behind in 2 years and as much as 4:1 behind PS4 when generation 8 comes to an end
