There is no better franchise of the two, it comes down to opinion. I prefer Final Fantasy as I grew up with it, and never really had a chance with the Legend of Zelda games.

I like them both relatively equally for different reasons. They both have their good and bad games, FF's more prominent simply because there are tons of FF games between mainline titles and spinoffs. If you had asked me to pick between say, FF and Dragon Quest, I could contribute to your poll. I can't be bothered to vote for such a poorly thought out comparison though.


I get the whole apples to oranges thing that peeves people, but sometimes, people like apples better than oranges. For instance, I like The Last of Us better than I liked Halo 3. I believe it is better for many reasons despite loving Halo 3 as well. Just because the games are totally different doesn't mean I cannot have a preference to one over the other.

Same with these two franchises.

You believe games have to be in the same genre in order to state which one you believe to be better. In the end, what is asked of us is an opinion (whether or not the two games are of the same genre or not) so the answer cannot be right or wrong. Neither can the question.

It'd be more constructive to not answer the post than to condemn it.

OT - Final Fantasy is better to me, because I've tried to play LoZ games but could never finish one, because my interest waned long before the end. To me, the best LoZ game is 3d Dot Heroes, haha.

All right, this is just flat out bs.  The two best zelda spin off games I can even think of are link's cross bow training which is shovelware and hyrule warriors which is generic musou garbage, and then there's the tingle games. . .  Meanwhile ff has games like tactics, one of the best tactical rpgs ever made, and the ridiculous yet wonderful kingdom hearts.

The 4 swords games are technically spinoffs (although their stories are cannon) and I will say I forgot about tactic which I actually like a lot. Hower both the Zelda games you mentioned are still better than Dirge of Cerberus and those games based on chocobos when I say the spinoffs are better I mean on average not necessarily individually.

i only played FF1,2,3,10,12 and few spinoff
for zelda i played zelda 1, a link to the past, link's awakening, OOT, TP, WWHD, SS, majora mask, oracle of season

both are great and have few weak release, but overall i will go for zelda
well, if its xenoblade vs zelda.. i honestly dont know who to vote
