I said this would be Nintendo's best seller on Wii U for this year and that was back when Zelda was still slated to be released this year.

Mario Maker has huge mass appeal, kinda sucks that it's stuck on Wii U (because it will limit its sales potential), but IMO this was always going to be Nintendo's best selling console game this year.

I don't know why people think 2D Mario is niche and something like console Zelda is massively mainstream. 2D Mario always has outsold Zelda. By a lot.

Yeah, Mario Maker can definitely become one of the best WiiU games! I don't know if it'll outsell NSMBU thiugh.

I think it wil be amazing

You know, before the NWC I had little interest in the title. It had sorta flown under the radar a little. All of a sudden after looking at the stuff you can make and the sheer joy involved...it's become one of my most anticipated titles. Looking at these comments and hearing on Skype/AIM I doubt I'm the only one who's like this.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Dunno - it plays like regular Mario games based on the videos.

Somebody is missing the point.....

And what point is that?

I thought it seemed pretty basic at first but after seeing all the gameplay from the NWC holy shit that looks amazing. It just looks so creative and fun, and there is so much endless possibility for what you can do in a level. I'm really impressed by it!

Am I missing something? Claims of GOTY? The "epic" part at 12.45 didn't seem anything special. Not played Mario for over 20 years so that could be the reason why I just don't get it.

I honestly believe if Wii U launched at $249.99 with an improved Wii Remote and games like Splatoon+Mario Maker instead of Nintendo Land+New Super Mario Bros U than sales would be much better.

Glad to see that so many people agree :)
