This is from another thread where we're making fun of all these rumors....

Two days ago I received an email from an anonymous source claiming to be working closely with Nintendo on an unannounced project
...
Though I believe the source to be genuine, I obviously wasn’t able to confirm the person’s identity. Follow up questions went unanswered as of this posting

I think I found why no one else posted this before!

I can't see much use for virtual reality, at least not yet.

I, for one, welcome our new VRtual overlords

Yeah... no.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

There's no better name than the one of your biggest failure.

I think VR is a possibility from Nintendo. Unlike the the more powerful systems delivered by Oculus, Steam VR, Holo..something and Sony Morpheus I think Nintendo's VR will probably be a portable system delivering a good VR experience enough for cartoon graphics etc that you play in the car, bedroom, on the train or keep in your bag ready for when you have a few minutes to spare etc. Something that folds flat when not used for easy storage. That's the sort of VR experience I would expect from Nintendo, basically an extension of their 3DS range and I would expect their 3DS range of software to be fully compatible with their VR portable system. Personally I would be very interested in such a system and can see it be a huge commercial success just like most of the handheld/portable products of recent years.

What I can't see is Nintendo making some huge investment in a competing product for home console type VR to compete with Microsoft and Sony. I think this is definitely not happening. I think it likely Nintendo will withdraw from the home console arena except for devices that are basically handheld power but can also connect to tv.

things like this neve leake from nintendo its impossible.

It's not impossible, we've heard leaks in the past and even if there was nothing like this before, doesn't mean it can't happen now.

Having said that though this seems very unlikely. The OP suggests this with the Lack of follow up comments from their anonymous source... No real reason to believe this leak this time.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I know that, i was just exaggerating to make a point. Also to point out only a handful of individuals know what Nintendo is working on next when it comes to hardware (its a fact from one of the iwata asks interviews) so its close to impossible as it gets..one other thing is that nintendo (satoru iwata) said no so long ago that they are not interested in VR in this form as it is now.
