If they wanted to sell at a loss I suppose yes but they don't and never will so no, it would also be financial suicide.

Also why is it randomly needed?, the last few threads are popping up way more in Sony's defense than Wii's, in fact I'm noting 4-5 threads that are Sony>everyone else in their defense.

In that case, it would be no competition. If Sony could manufacture them, they would easily have 30M by now, and would probably be closer to 40 than 30. PlayStation is a bigger brand, and Nintendo benifited greatly from PS3 being $499.99 at launch.


Weren't they already selling the PS3 at a $100 loss because of the BluRay drive. Add todays tech to it back then it be closer to $250 per unit i'd say

It's not just you,

400 Euro PS4 sold better than 250 Euro Wii for first year, I think at 250 it would be enough to continue into multiple years.

wii had no longevity. it's huge sales came from a lot of none gamers who hoped to lose some weight and/or get more fit while having fun with wii fit. once they realized it doesn't work the way they intended it was game over. even the ps3 would have won LTD if it would have been 399 like the ps4 right from the start.
