| I LOVE GIGGS said: - No body cared about FIFA on PS1 and PS2 Era and see what happened last generation. The popularity of NBA is increasing worldwide. 2K games started outselling Madden even in the US. They want a share of that. And a FIFA situation might happen again. The good thing in this situation is that EA can change the formula each year until they find the right one and nobody will complain. 2K can't do that. Any slight change, even if it was for the better, and people would kill them for it. - It is funny that we, gamers, complain about lack of new IP and at the same time we ask the developer to work on the old franchises. They can't win. But in rare's case I agree with you. They have so many franchises that if they spent two years developing one game from each franchise , they need at least 10 years to go back to the same franchise. |
Actually FIFA 98 and 99 were already insanely popular. It didn''t do much during the PS2 era though, as Pro Evolution Soccer was the far better game at that time.
