Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why gets Microsoft a Free Pass when it comes to droughts unlike Sony for this year?

Microsoft is also gearing for a killer Holiday 2015 ... come 2016 the OP will come out with the same thread praising Sony for release Uncharted 4 in March 2016 and ignoring PS4's lacklustre Holiday 2015 lineup made of mostly 3rd party multi platform games.

This thread is a freakin joke... Facts bloodborne delayed a month from February 2015 to march 2015. Also, the order 1886 was supposed to be holiday title 2014 but was delayed to 2015. The facts that Sony had such a strong 2015 was simply because of their lackluster performance for holiday 2014. you also fail to mention the big picture .... There only a drought of exclusive if there nothing else to replace first party games like on the WiiU. Has a Xbox one owner there has not been a drought in 2015... Dying light in January ...evolve in February ... March was a huge month with Screamride, Ori and the blind Forest, Battlefield hardline, Project cars... April slower with Mortal kombat X and State of decay... witcher 3 in March. This is what you call a drought, why don't you ask a WiiU owner and see what a real drought.

Sure your focus is on exclusivity drought but that what make Xbox one and Ps4 superior to WiiU ... Third party more then make up for lack of console exclusive. Beside as fan of games in general, we're the real loser when you can't play game because of console exclusivity. Console exclusivity isn't really something that should be celebrated.

With all the new games, Hd remastered and indie games release this year on Xbox one there really no reason for me to even consider getting a PS4. Sure, I admit that bloodborne might be a great game and a wonderful experience but there more then enough other games to make up for it on Xbox one. Beside, Sunset overdrive was an amazing game that I hope PS4 owner get to experience one day. I'd rather be a fan of games then a fan of taking side in a console war. I chosen to invest my money in Xbox but doesn't mean I don't respect or want to play game exclusive to PS4. I may just yet get one in 2-3 year when price drop. I already own two consoles in Xbox one and Wiiu ... pS4 can wait when I will buy one to play the 3-4 worthwhile exclusive at a discount.

Bloodborne being delayed too March doesn't change anything, it would still be released Q1. And even without The Order the PS4 still has MLB 15, Until Dawn, Tearaway and Dragon Quest Heroes before the holidays.

Also why are you mentioning multi-plats? This is a thread talking about exclusives.

Lol it's amazing how you just draw away from the topic which is Xbox and go to Wii U. Whatever you think about the Wii U doesn't matter here, this is about PS4 and XBO.

"There is only one race, the pathetic begging race"

I give them a free pass because MS pays me to do so.

Plus is it really fair to compare a set-top box to a game console?

You see guys, these types of comments are exactly what the OP and I was talking about. Acting like we only play games during the holidays, which is a 2 month period while Sony releases games throughout the year. And this Holiday we are probably getting Persona 5 and Uncharted Collection.

No, it's not. The thread is about that Ruler thinks that Sony gets critized (unproven in OP) for not having any games while they are "delivering" (and then mentioning The Order, well...). And that MS, although (unproven in OP) having no games, gets a "free pass", implying that no one ever mentioned the lack of games for Xbone until Halo 5 arrives.

That this thread turned out into something different is something I directly blamed to the OP but perhaps it is also a lack of reading comprehension (reading and understanding, preferrably both).

They get a free pass for their "Games with gold" too.

I guess expectations are just low.

As for SONY, and I am being blunt here, aside from few 1st party exclusives, SONY is better off buying marketing rights for major 3rd party games.

Between X1 and PS4 2015 line up, I'd pick the PS4's as my personal favourite. Persona 5 and bloodborne, what could be better?

Maybe from some but as an Xbox fan they don't get a free pass from me. GWG on Xbone has been terrible imo. 1 game a month and it's an indie game 99% of the time.

You are truly noble

Ms has released 2 games BTW.

Ori and scream ride

both are not AAA exclusives, i can count countless of PS4 Indie titles and Japanese titles who came out this year exclusiveley for PS4

The Xbox One has no games so far and will continiue having no Major releases until at the very end of September when Halo 5 comes out. Thats 9 entire Months with no games

Yet if Sony delivers games like Bloodborne, Order, Until Dawn until august and comes in a situation where they have a drought for 3 months people are so disspointed about Sony and saying this and that. Even before E3 has started.

Yet where is the same critisim for MS having no games for 9 entire Months?

First point, 'Xbox One has no games'? Really? I have been playing the following since launch (exclusives followed by non-exclusives); Forza Motorsport 5, Halo MCC (which is 4 games in one), Titanfall, Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse: Son of Rome, Killer Instinct, Horizon 2 Fast and Furious, Project Spark, Powerstar Golf, Max The Curse of Brotherhood, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfighter, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, Rayman Legends, Child of Light, Worms Battlegrounds and PoolNationFX (The games I can think of, maybe more). - So, your first point is ridciulous.

Just because MS doesn't release 'no games for 9 months', doesn't mean there are 'no games to play for 9 months'. I am still well and truely wrapped up in Horizon 2, Titanfall and Sunetset Overdrive because they are big games with long reply value. If MS release 4 games during the holiday (for example), what difference does it make if they release them all at once or one every 3 months? You still have the same amount of content to play? For example, Horizon 2 was released last fall, but it is such a big and fun game that I am still playing it, the last thing I need is another game to play.

Your third point... games like The Order and Until Dawn don't have long replay value for a start, so soon after their release everyone has completed them and wants something new. Plus, they are all in a similar genre (horror). I do not personally like horror games, so from my personal perspective Sony have released nothing that I want to play for quite a whilte, the last games was Driveclub.

..I think he was talking about this year.

I can easily agree I have not seen as many people bagging on Microsoft for not releasing any exclusives this year. (I mean true exclusives, not MLB 15 or Ori).

Especially not on this site, MS really does need to understand games are played all year around.
