Dang, I thought I was pretty knowledgeable. Never heard of Star Tropics. Largely because I never had a NES, but oh well.
Played: Golden Sun, Fire Emblem, Wave Race, Advance Wars, Chibi Robo, Punch-Out, Earthbound, Brain Age, F-Zero
Heard: Pilot Wings (played it, if air sports from "wii sports resort" belongs to the Pilot Wings franchise ...)
Other franchises which could be on the list: Kid Icarus, Pikmin, Star Fox, Steel Diver, Pushmo
It's said that a lot of people are saying Custom Robo, but that series has be MIA since the Gamecube. They should either rerelease it on the Virtual console or make a new one. It would be a great "value" game like Captain Toad etc.

Advance Wars is amazing. I bought it knowing almost nothing about it, and probably put 100 hrs into. So accessible but very deep.

I didn't even realize that StarTropics was obscure. I though it was fairly well known but I'm sure that's just because I grew up with it.
OT: I've played and enjoyed every game in the op.

I beat that amazing game. It felt like an amazing version of metabots.
