Never heard of 5 of them. Even when I googled the ones I didnt know I did not recognise the pictures :(


Dont judge me though. I was a Sega kid. I could list of games from sega consoles all day and most people on this site would probably be thinking I made them up.

I should make an online quiz for this site and see how many games people can name in a certain time.

Pilot Wings. Never heard of it and looks rubbish to be honest .

The rest I played and loved at least one game from the franchise.

I didn't think it would be fair to include ones that never saw the light of day outside Japan.

The goal wasn't to pick ones nobody knew in a hipster-ish "you've probably never heard of them" way, it was to see how recognized their less-well-known franchises were, in light of the recent "have you heard of Metroid" thread.

No need for apologies, I should have explained this in OP. I'll add it now. :)

I know all of these franchises and then some. That said, I can see how some younger gamers might not be familiar with some of these properties. A lot of the video game industry in general is still a mystery to non-gamers.

To be honest I thought it was a troll thread. I mean this site is very Nintendo friendly. So you not only go onto a gaming site, but you go onto a gaming with loads of Nintendo fans and ask is people have ever heard of Metroid? 

I know about metroid because I owned it growing up. Still have my carts for them. If I never heard of that series though I 100% would have knew about it after visiting this site. If you were to stop random people in town though.....
