Well, I doubt it will sell anywhere near as well as Skyrim (20m+), since Skyrim was more casual friendly than Witcher 3. However Witcher 3 is getting reviews that are nearly as good as Skyrim's, and the preorder numbers certainly aren't bad, they suggest that Witcher 3 will sell around 7-8 million lifetime.

That's not bad at all. I'll probably get it someday.

No way, the next Elder Scrolls will be this gen's Skyrim.

Trust me, there's a new "non MMO" Elder Scrolls in development and it will launch for this generation. Could still be a few years away, but it's coming.

For a game with a budget of 15 million, you bet your ass 7-8 million will make them happy.
