Forums - Gaming - Rumour: One Month of PS4 sales in China beats 8 months of Xbox One sales

Considering the size of the overall PRC market, it's pretty clear that the game console market there amounts to peanuts; virtually insignificant.

Choices are good in any market when it comes to sources of entertainment, but just like the RoK, the PRC gaming market has been, is and will continue to be built around PC with the addition of the mobile market.

So, I just noticed this. XBO's LTD sales in China exceeded LTD sales in Japan.

WHAT THIS PROVES!

Had PS4 launched January 11th, as it originally should, I would have won my bet, of PS4 never going down below 180k a week in 2015... Goddamn you chinese goverment.

You still lose the bet, because PS4 will dropped at 120,000 / 150,000 in April / May ...

I feel bad for China.

It's not a rumour if the source has credible connections in the industry to be able to obtain reasonably accurate sales estimates. This k73 . com website is completely unknown to me and I can't read a word of Mandarin, so I have no idea of its credibility as the original source of information.

I have my doubts about a combined 1 million by the year's end. PS4 might have got off to a semi-non-horrible start, but it seems like official PS4 sales in China will be a mere trickle for both consoles unless a helluva lot more games get approved for sale domestically.

Also, Dat Knack aye? System seller confirmed.

I thought the Xbox One would do better considering it had the huge advantage of being the first....

It was more expensive though ...

The PS5 Exists.

Although not great, it's still better than last year and the 12 years before that. This is a stepping stone, on which hopefully will bring about further progress into one of the worlds largest economies.

China was never going to become Japan overnight. But now they at least can try. Sony or MS might benefit from opening a studio to produce games in China, that may cater for the market(and also the rest of Asia too)

Wii U had that advantage.

There's no way to track video game sales in china? I hope that Sony or MS release some kind of up to date figures.

Agreed 100% Don't know why people were expecting the numbers to be in the hundred-thousands.
