Forums - Gaming - Is Ori and The Blind Forest the Best Looking Game this Generation? (If not, what is?)

Around the Network

The Order looks great. On pictures. The scenario is absolutely static. Look me but dont touch me.

Ori world feels dinamic and alive. And the game runs at 60 FPS, that makes a wonderfull effect when you play it but you can´t show it on a picture. Also Ori feels truly cinematic, almost like a Pixar/Ghibli movie, without 30fps, tons of cutscenes and 2 black bars hiding a 30% of the screen.

Does the future Journey PS4 port count? Because Journey is the prettiest game I've ever played. And the music is just mindblowing too.

Ori doesn't only excel in the graphics, it couples it an outstanding orchestral score, that makes you wish you lived in its world.

From an art design perspective I can see how people could consider Ori being the best so far this generation.

However, I would say that Ryse, The Order and Driveclub are so far the best looking games this generation on consoles.

I would add

This is going to be the cutest game this gen :P

So far, i'd say that it is a contender, along with the Order, MK8 and others, but there will be games that will challenge that position as well ( Best to state the obvious! :P )

From a technical view of course it cant stand up to games like Bloodborne and The Order but when it comes to Art Style Ori is the best looking game out period. As for as 2D games nothing is even close and that includes Trine, Rayman or anything else.

I'd say best art style this gen, which is debatable obviously.

In terms of sheer graphical fidelity, no way.
I'd say Ryse still has that on lock.

The Order 1886 would strongly disagree with you on that. id argue that the Order and Driveclub are on a league of their own when it comes to visuals so far

Well I still disagree, and say Ryse PC blows everything away, but that's just my opinion.

Seeing as we already have some future games in here I'd also like to throw Rime and Zelda U (assuming it sticks with the artstyle it has shown off until now) into the ring, both incredibly beautiful games imo.
