Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is Ori and The Blind Forest the Best Looking Game this Generation? (If not, what is?)

The "best looking game" is quite a broad term. For artstyle, it's possible and I agree with your opinions in the OP, but I'd argue that Yoshi's Wooly World might take that honour away soon. For actual graphical fidelity, nope. However I appreciate that ain't the question you're asking.

It's an excellent looking game and, for sure, the graphics add to that feeling when you play the game. But to call it the outright best in all categories is pushing it slightly; not to take anything away from Ori ofcourse.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Seeing as we already have some future games in here I'd also like to throw Rime and Zelda U (assuming it sticks with the artstyle it has shown off until now) into the ring, both incredibly beautiful games imo.

Agree with both. Rime looks like Ico + Wind waker. And it´s brilliant.

Rime actually reminds me a bit of Wind Waker HD, only more sophisticated.

That's a bold claim...While I think the game looks good I wouldn't say it's the best though.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

But someone could say the same about Zelda U, honestly.

Nah, that game looks surprisingly realistic in some parts.

These two look like levels straight from LBP3. Looks nice.

This two looks more like the natural evolution of

A game from 1997.

But I agree, looks nice, and there´s some similarities on the concept.

Graphically: The order, DC and Ryse.
Art-work: Bloodborne and Dragonage.
Story: The order and Last of us.
Gameplay: Bloodborne, Sunset overdrive, MCC, Dragonage and Dying light.
Indies: Ori, No man's sky, Trine and Oddworld.

It's really hard to look at things subjectively
