So Reggie DIDN'T say this was suppose to be the MK of FPS?

Yes, but captain Yuri was saying this because now he thinks that you can´t play online with your friends, He was misunderstanding this as so many people on this thread. And you are saying "yeah you are right". But he is not.

And nothing wrong with being the Mario Kart of Shooters, I hope Splatoon becomes exactly that. A more friendly and casual aproach to the genre that can be played by hardcores too.

My bad. And yeah, nothing wrong with being the MK of FPS. I just don't think it's wise for people to expect a core game out of it. Mario Kart isn't a core game, it's a casual game. Judging Splatoon's features against something like COD or Halo is just unfair to Splatoon.

Oh please. They said that there´s more online modes coming. So probably three 4vs4 online modes. one 1vs1 local mode and a single campaign mode. 5 modes for the first game of a new IP and the first shooter online that Nintendo has ever made. It´s enough.

"how the game is turning out"

...

...

You are seeing things where they aren´t dude. The game is everytime more and more, And the more the game have, the more people want the game to have. By now, for some reason, the game has to have every f*king single feature of COD

BUT THIS IS NOT COD

You're saying "this is not COD" as if that they've been showing is better. It's worse. It looks worse than COD. COD isn't even bad - people are just tired of it. All this game has going for it is that is has a neat gimmick, because everything else they've shown about the game is otherwise antiquated and hilariously embarassing for a 2015 $60 shooter.

It doesn't matter what they said. You show, don't tell. Right now, they've said and have shown nothing to confirm that there would be any more than one online mode playble at launch. That's pathetic. A single player campaign isn't a mode, no matter what they call it. It's a campain. It's just as insignificant as talking about the single player in COD or Battlefield. That just leaves one local and one online mode at launch. That's pathetic. That's F2P quality. Being a new IP isn't an excuse. Titanfall was consider extremely bare in content at launch, and it's launch features blow this game out of the water. Never making a shooter isn't an excuse either. It's not "enough." You don't get to charge $60 for an experiment and not get criticized for it.

I only hope that we can do private matches. I'd like to customize them like in Smash, but, again, it's Nintendo :P. I'm serious when I say that the only possibility I'll buy this game is if it includes private matches. If this isn't the case I'm out. So they better clarify all of this...

Why are some of you calling Splatoon FPS? First Person Shooter?

Splatoon is a Third Person Shooter. Compare it to Gears of War.

What are you even talking about? How do you know is worse or better, have you played dude? The game looks GORGEOUS in every sense of the word GORGEOUS. "One online playable mode at launch" and what? Is that a big problem? really? Are you going to have a lot of problems reching level 10 on turf mode? maybe 3 hours? LMAO, and you still have the single campaign and the Battle Dojo.

You are trying very hartd to see bad things man. A year ago no one was giving a shit about this game. Now is have to be P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N, better than any other shooter on the human history, and have more features than cod, more modes than battlefield, be more hardcore than titanfall blah blah blah because if not... is pathetic.

I find indeed pathetic that way of thinking, not the game.

I don't agree with this, games are as "hardcore" as you want them to be. You can play MK for fun or competitive, and it has a lot to offer in both ways. It's as hardcore as CoD or Halo are, in my opinion. We have to judge Splatoon's features as it is, a competitive shooter. It has to be fun, but, if the content is lacking, it will fail as a game. It must appeal to both hardcore and casual gamers, like MK does. But, we'll know when Nintendo decides to do a Direct of it. I'm very sceptic at the moment...

This still doesn't mean that Friendlies can't join Random games, though, right? Like in Mario Kart8 when going online with randoms?

Edit: Nevermind, Splatoon has pre-game match-ups. Doesn't sound likely..

Hot damn, this is a hard sale to justify with everything being accounted for.
