Have any other gaming sites said anything similar?

No they dont. Is just from IGN. And they give ZERO importance to the question. They say  "These still feel like small issues for a game capable of much grander ambition" just after that.

People is just very paranoic with everything around Nintendo.

"Splatoon's user customization settings were discussed in a recent article by IGN, revealing new information about the various options players can expect when the game launches. Unlike Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, there is no custom match types to play privately online with friends."

Nintendo better patch this in.

"Another issue brought up was the ability to change the look sensitivity. In Splatoon, these settings can only be changed before or after a match, a somewhat out of date feature. Experimenting to find the ideal look sensitivity will be problematic, as you will have to change it, enter a game, test it, exit the game, and proceed to change it again, with a few loading screens here and there."

This too though I'll probably use the setting I have for SP.

The sensibility problem is the most stupid thing i´ve heard today. Is a problem that you can have ONCE in your life with the game. Because once you have the sensibility as you want.... You will never change it again!!!!

Seems illogical to be changing the settings in a multiplayer game anyway. The matches are short enough that if you spend the first thirty seconds doing nothing, then you are probably going to piss off your teammates and possibly lose the game because of it. If you want to mess with your setting, do it in the hub area (not entirely sure how camera control works in the hub though...) or the single player. Theres no reason to be messing with it in the middle of a match.

it's a bit of a blow to me who was looking forward to playing with friends only.

Wait just a second: perhaps you can still play privately with friends? Just not custom match types.

Welp, I am going to go ahead and cancel my pre-order. Not even joking btw. This is a fully priced game and a lack of VC is fine but a lack of a friends lobby? This is just nonsense.

I feel for you, really I do (no, honestly, I do). But you have to remember what Reggie said. This game is suppose to do for FPS what the first Super Mario Kart did. It's not aimed at core gamers. Sure, core gamers CAN play it, but that's not the target demograph here. They want people to play this game that DON'T like core FPS. So in their mind, why put core features in?

To me, it makes no sense why you wouldn't try for both, but this is the Nintendo way, not mine. I'm sure it'll be fun anyway.
