Same here. All my wii-u friends are "moderate" at best when it comes to playing online, despite having mario kart 8 and smash bros. still sounds fun to me, but i can sympathize with people who actually have friends that will commit to playing online.

The last thing that stood out to us was user customization. Splatoon doesn’t offer custom match types with friends like Smash Bros. Specific user settings for look sensitivity controls can only be adjusted before (or after) a match. So if you’ve set one too high (or too low) you’ll have to jump out in order to make adjustments. It feels slightly backwards for an action shooter released in 2015.

These still feel like small issues for a game capable of much grander ambition. Splatoon is fun to play. And it’s rewarding. Whether splattering foes with a roller brush or using it to claim a swath of territory, both actions come bundled with a thorough feeling of accomplishment. µ

They can`t be serious about not having a lobby for only friends, right..?? Ugh, this is so stupid. What were they thinking when they when they made this decision?! I am very excited for this game, but they just keep messing it up with these stupid design choices! GOSH. I`m not even sure if I want this game anymore... >: (

But again, Nobody have said anything about that. They were talking only about customization.

And woops, looks like I jumped into conclusion. Good catch. Custom matches should be included though but that could always get patched in. 

lol I'm sure its only custom match types. I'm not even worried. Even then I never participate in private lobbies anyway.

Again, out of curiousity, what kind of customization were you expecting or hoping for? Judging from everything that we've seen, there was no reason to expect any type of custom matches mode...

The way they phrased this is in a odd way in which playing with friends is not possible. If this is misinterpretted, I hope it is incorrect and they fix it quick. It sounds like pairing with friends is not possible, which would be a really poor decision if true.

Fucking Splatoon threads and their miscommunication. I swear even one word can make such a huge difference. This is going to be a big thing until the next Direct, just like the whole 4v4 being the only online mode fiasco.

Edit: Not referring to this thread specifically. I basically mean the IGN article and how it's worded in general.
