Forums - Gaming - Bandai Namco Producer Explains Why The Publisher Is Bringing So Many Japanese Games to the West

I'm really impressed at Bamco's localization output. Now here's hoping that we get localizations from SAO: Lost Song, God Eater 2, Digimon, and Tales of Innocence R soon (or at least release the Asian versions).

I need Digimon, that game looks so good. Please Namco.

"There is only one race, the pathetic begging race"

You start treating your fans well with more localizations and timely (probably most important) localizations. They treat you nicely back.

That's what you believe? I guess that would mean that a company that treats their fans or potential fans like dirt would be treated like dirt in return.

I believe that customers respond in some way to a company's actions. If a publisher pumps out sequels and burns out a franchise, then consumers reduce their support. If a company does what they can to cultivate a fanbase, they remain very loyal.

Of course, there's always going to be exceptions, but it's not every company who does well has done everything wrong.

You should've paid better attention in maths-classes, especially logic. From the imlication (b follows from a) it isn't logical to come to the connclusion that not b follows from not a. The possibility b follows from not a is also true and it seems gamers decide to treat a company nicely if the company treats them like dirt.

Now I want to see Tales of Innocence R, Digimon Cyber Sleuth, God Eater 2: Rage Burst and Sword Art Online: Lost Song all as retail for PS Vita in the west.

I'm really glad they said this publicly. I hope other publishers take note.

I decided in January 2014 I was going to buy every single physical English language Vita release expecting it to pretty much be over last year...

Decisions like this are making this endeavour a lot more expensive than I initially envisioned >_

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

It's so wonderful to see modern Bandai Namco putting their former selves to shame. c':

Well done Bandai Namco, now you're a real hero bringing more of your games over to the west finally... It sure would have been nice if you did that sooner with the Tales games on DS, ahem...
