I don't pirate games at all (I have played Rom emulators at friends places, but if I or they already own the game I don't see the issue) , I don't pirate music unless there is zero ways to let me purchase it legally, and I very rarely pirate movies, but I try to avoid it as much as possible with Netflix and Hulu or even iTunes.

The few anime I have seen I will admit I streamed, but that was before it became localized.

I do it less and less.
Yet it is so hard for us not to, latin american gamers.

Your mother is proud of you! Good boy :) (Please don't take it personal, it's just a good fit, in my opinion).

These days, the last option (although I'm using VPN to access Netflix from a country that it's not launched in, so I end up paying for a VPN subscription and a Netflix subscription).

In my teens, I pirated a lot, any and all forms of content. I also used to play a lot of ROMs up until recently for old PS1 games up until about a year ago. Only reason I stopped that is because I just don't have the time for reliving old games anymore. My gaming time is limited, I choose to spend it on new experiences.

The only thing I "pirate" these days is porn, and I'm not really sure whether that actually counts as piracy... after all, you have to watch X amount of seconds before it infringes, right :P

That said, I have no moral objection to piracy. I find the legal routes more convenient, and, yes, I'm a rich fuck who can flitter away cash on shit.

I 2nd that :P

Do you second that as in you agree that aLkaLinNE is a horrible person or as in you're a terrible person too?

I would be okay if he thought I were a bad person. I'm very opinionated on this site and quite vocal too.

I will say this;

My music collection is around 40 gigs.

The only game I've ever "pirated" was a custom guitar hero 2 game for ps2 that I put together myself using modding apps.

I have a few TV shows and some movies on my computer.

The only thing I admit to pirating is the custom guitar hero 2 ROM :p even then I had purchased the real guitar hero before that.

I don't even know how to pirate games, and never bothered to look into it. I have shared plenty of games with friends, but I don't see that as being the same.

I pirate on: GBA(ezflash), DS(Dstwo), 3DS(gateway), Wii(softmod), PS2(some chip), PS3(Cobra ODE) and emulators. Games cost up to 30% of the monthly wage in my country.

Steam and gog fill all my needs now. They're just so convinent. Besides, if you keep an eye out for sales, you wont be spending too much money anwyas.
I've pirated some games, mainly roms, over the years.. Big games these days usually require a lot of fiddling to get around DRM and ever since I got my degree in computer science (in digital games) I really dislike pirating indie stuff. If I ever release a game, I want people to support it, so I do too. I really don't care about the big companies though :P Hipster warning, I guess. Oh well.

HOWEVER, I'm still a firm believer that pirating increases sales.
What does OP think about that?

Sure, during the ps1-2-era, people pirated like crazy. Many stores actually sold "legit" pirated games (ofc, they weren't legit, but real stores! Not some shady guy on the street). I don't think thats the case anymore. As long as companies provide good services, people will gladly pay. Netflix, Spotify, Steam, GoG. Pirates these days often use it as "free demos" and buy anyways, or they're just people who'd never spend any money on it anyways.
