"Any release post august/september is holidays, thats when releases start ramping up, it's not just a 4 week window."

no. and november + december makes it 8 weeks.

Do you follow release schedules? The bulk of the games come out between september and november. December almost never has a major release.

Do you follow the dictionary? holidays refers to the very end of the year.

Facepalm. So you don't know what you're talking about. No major game ever comes out in december but they do in september through november. Go educate yourself on the subject before hitting that submit button on your next reply.

Couldn't I flip that and say sony only cares for the first few months of the year. The Order-Feb, Bloobourne-March........Uncharted 4-Q1/Q2 2016. That could be well over 1 year gap.

They do have other games in between though.

Games do release in december.

But it's usually a dumping ground same as January. I remember poor Nights: Journey of Dreams.

Anyway, you two should probably drop this line of conversation (that means you too, Turkish)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Microsoft is the only one who has a precision eye for 3rd and 4th quarter. The other companies launch their games year round.

Microsoft, yea, pretty much, but they all do in a way. They release a few games in the spring (March for the last Gears, Halo Wars, etc.), then have the Summer of Arcade, but considering the last 4 months in the states sell more than all of the rest of the year combined, it kind of makes since.

I wish they would release some fun family friendly/Kinect games when school ends in the Spring/Summer.

Nintendo seems mostly on their own schedule on occasion.

But both Sony and Nintendo have a fall Holiday push for their different markets. It just makes financial since.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Mario Kart 7 released in December, so did Gran Turismo 6

Nintendo always has lots of games for the rest of the year, so no. Although the holiday period is definitely the most crucial for them.

Unless they have third party they will always lose 4th quarter to their competitors because thats what the majority of gamers want. It doesn't matter which console its on. Sony would never have been as dominant as they were if Nintendo would stop being ignorant and start playing ball.

Trust me on this, if Nintendo starts off their next gen properly with third party in hand gamers of all kinds will follow them. How do I know this? Look at the sales of the SNES and NES and compare it to the stability of their other conoles. Exclusives should always be the decision making variable which sweetens the deal when pleading a console-maker's case (when it comes to a purchase).

I never said they win the 4th quarter, lol. I said that's the most important period for them, which it is.

Official Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Thread

Nintendo is more like a second half of the year company. That's when we see the most releases. (Last year, MK8/DK released pretty close to 2nd half) and then we had Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, Super Smash Bros and Captain Toad.
