So, is this Chrom?

Nope. The hair is not the same, so it is I'd be surprised. Could be Marth though, or perhaps Roy.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

The press turn system could even be applied to the Fire Emblem weapon triangle.

Will repeat my question for the new page: is this Chrom?

I'm not familiar with it, but I am aware of it. Isn't it a sort of rock-paper-scissors system with swords/lances/battle axes or something? How would that work in a game where the enemies don't seem to use those weapons?

As for the Chrom thing, I really can't tell. I don't think so, though.

I thought I saw a bow, a bunch of lances and swords. Could apply.

This game is to FE what Persona is to SMT...

It all makes sense! Nintendo hired Atlus to make a spin off franchise to FE! Which appeals to a completely different audience from the mother franchise, and will eventually overtake the original in popularity and sales even though the original is (probably) better! It will be so different that it will eventually stop being considered a spin off and be recognized as a fully independent franchise! Those geniuses...

I'm not sure if serious or sarcastic, but I could see them thinking that way given this game no longer has the SMT x FE title, but rather its own name.  And the setting has multiple FE motifs in it, so this *could* be a new FE universe but one that is modern times rather than medieval/feudal/etc.  Or one of the existing ones but advanced to this modern/near future period, but I actually think they will avoid that.  And obviously they mixed in a totally different tone and gameplay style.  So yeah, that may be their thought.  Well minus the snark in the middle part of your paragraph :P .  But an independent spinoff series?  I think Nintendo would be fine with that :P

I'm being half serious lol. I think it's clear that this is more than a crossover and I think it's clear that this game doesn't target the... hardcore main series SMT fan. I think it definitely errs towards the independant spin off territory. I just can't take the bubble weeabu jpop slice-of-life high japanese school vibes.

The producer confirmed that it's in its own universe too.

I take it you aren't a fan of Persona then?

Not particularly, no. Not in the slightest.

1doesnotsimply

well i dont know how the story will work or will there any monster or devil combination like SMT games. The strong point of Persona games is in story and gameplay, this games sure look good and slightly better then Persona 5 on PS3, but i dont know about the gameplay.

I can't tell if you guys are trolling. In what way does this look good, let alone look like a SMT x FE cross over? Haven't been this disappointed in Atlus in a while.
