Nothing in that video seems to imply they came up with the entire concept. Yoshida just says they wanted something dark and moody. Bloodborne is still a Souls game through and through, plus I'm pretty sure the Lovecraftian themes were probably put in place by From Software too...

I linked you to the EXACT part in the video where the guy FLAT OUT SAYS it...

Betray? wouldn't the new game still be on PS though?

Yes Noble San, but it would be on other platforms, ie) PC and Xbox.

There in lies the "betrayal".

not really a betrayal since they've made Xbox games before. xD

I have the feel Fromsoftware is going to betray us Playstation fans soon. Just like with demon souls who became dark souls, i think fromsoftware will take out the gameplay and setting and make Bloodborne to Redborne or what ever the next game will be called to be released as a multiplat.

Bloodborne seems to be devoloped by sony Japan Studio as well. If they have the assets, the engine and the rights for the name then why shouldnt sony devolope a bloodborne 2 by themselfs? Sony could also just bribe a couple of Fromsoftware devolopers to switch to sony so it keeps the flare of Fromsoftware. And hey what would be wrong with 2 souls franchises?

Whats your opinion?

How did from betray us dude? They went multiplat because they could, and sony didn't want to publish another game from them. Sony learned, and it wouldn't surprise me if sony tried to acquire them at some point. Sony learned from the mistake and published another from software game. But I can say that if they make another Bloodborne without the involvement of from sofware, there's little chance.

Both were co-developed by Sony. Sony will always push From Software to do something different. They tend to lack creativity when they aren't working with Sony hence why you had two Souls games immediately after they went multiplat. The unique games tend to come while working with Sony.

I don't think Sony has a team capable of doing it.

Sure they do, the A team of From Soft.

? Dark souls sold double on ps3 what it did on 360 when it was behind in userbase.
PS4 is now almost double the userbase, with the game not being particularly popular simply genre wise on xbox.

Dark souls 1 sold 1.1m on ps3 and .50 on360 with an install base of 60m+
Is it worth making a game that might now even crack a few hundred thousand units...instead of simply making bloodborne 2?

Demon's souls sold 1.77m.
Dark Souls 1 didn't even reach that in total sales.
And Dark souls 2 was 1.7m

I don't know, does it look worth it to you to make TWO games instead of one that may outsell them?
Exlclusivity does have its perks.

If From decides to keep working with Sony, perfect.  But if they don't, I can't see any of the Sony studios up to the task.

They would be mad to don't do anything anymore with it, there will most definitely have another game like Bloodborne.

They didn't lacked creativity, they were smart, that's about it.

Sony is the reason they created Demon Souls in the first place and had a hit (and they didnt even think it was going to be a hit, they just made it for variety essentially). Before Sony they werent in the best of shape for creating such a game creatively. Sony wanted to take another route from Kings Field and that gave birth to Demon Soul's. Sony might make some franchises, but they are more focused on making new games that feel fresh.

"While details are still scant on Demon's Soul, SCE Japan producer Takeshi Kajii described the game to Famitsu as a spiritual successor to King's Field, the From-developed first-person RPG that first hit it big on the original PlayStation. "I am a fan of From Software, but naturally that also means there are parts of their games I'm not satisfied with, too," he said. "If this was a new King's Field game, there would be areas we wouldn't be able to touch since they're part of the series; working together like this, we can try to make something really new."
