Both were co-developed by Sony. Sony will always push From Software to do something different. They tend to lack creativity when they aren't working with Sony hence why you had two Souls games immediately after they went multiplat. The unique games tend to come while working with Sony.

They would be mad to don't do anything anymore with it, there will most definitely have another game like Bloodborne.

They didn't lacked creativity, they were smart, that's about it.

Sony is the reason they created Demon Souls in the first place and had a hit (and they didnt even think it was going to be a hit, they just made it for variety essentially). Before Sony they werent in the best of shape for creating such a game creatively. Sony wanted to take another route from Kings Field and that gave birth to Demon Soul's. Sony might make some franchises, but they are more focused on making new games that feel fresh.

"While details are still scant on Demon's Soul, SCE Japan producer Takeshi Kajii described the game to Famitsu as a spiritual successor to King's Field, the From-developed first-person RPG that first hit it big on the original PlayStation. "I am a fan of From Software, but naturally that also means there are parts of their games I'm not satisfied with, too," he said. "If this was a new King's Field game, there would be areas we wouldn't be able to touch since they're part of the series; working together like this, we can try to make something really new."
