Forums - Nintendo - They've left the Wii U to die.

I just enjoy the games.

Worrying about Nintendo is pointless because they do whatever weird thing they want, no one but Iwata and his board of directors have any control over that.

Even though I can see why a lot of people are pissed off, to me as a Nintendo fan who's never really thought Zelda was the center of the universe, there's plenty about 2015 to be excited about.

The launch of the first new big console Nintendo EAD IP that isn't a shallow mini-game experience in Splatoon is notable. The last one before that was what? Pikmin in 2001?

Star Fox is returning this year, I've waited almost 20 years for a proper sequel to Star Fox 64, maybe this will finally be it.

Xenoblade X ... to be honest Xenoblade was as good if not better than Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword (step your game up Aonuma).

Devil's Third looks so wacky that I'll have to try it too.

And I think Mario Maker again will be bigger than what some people think, this is going to be a hit game IMO.

Nintendo will be swimming in smartphone profits pretty soon anyway, they don't really have to worry about the state of their console division as much going forward.

It's a shame, cos they had many opportunities to turn Wii U around, but they let every one slip through their fingers. Doesn't inspire much confidence in buying their future hardware.

Delaying Zelda means "many oppertunity" damn you Sony fanboy will troll very hard to try to make NIntendo go third party. You kids today really need to lear how to form your own opionon.

I want this on record, I have been called many things, but never a Sony fanboy! XD If anything I get flack for bashing Sony.

As a huge Nintendo fan I hope they cut their losses and dump the WiiU.

Release a new console. Launch it with a 3d Mario and Zelda game.

add me, the more the merrier.

Left the Wii U to die? Eh...I'm not too sure. But it's clear their focus is elsewhere.

Anyway let's ignore that account please.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Nintendo has done a lot of wrong decisions which pissed me off in the last few months. Only once they fix all their mistakes (which won't happen) I'll be able to blindly buy their products again.

I don't get why them delaying Zelda U means they're abandoning the Wii U. Many games have gotten delayed to assure the product is as best as can be. Why is it when Zelda U's delayed, it means doom? They want more time to make sure it's the best thing they can do. I'm saddened by it, but if that's what they wanna do, then so be it. Sure, they are severely lacking on the games, but the ones they release, they're good to great overall. : ) They'd be better off if 3rd party actually gave a bit of support. : /

I just want to remember that WiiU is still the console with best quality library of the big 3, Quantity =/= quality, even with the multiplatforms they don´t beat the WiiU exclusives. We have a little troll here that is probably going to be perma-banned but says one thing right, the great and wonderfull ps4 has like ONE top notch game on its library, and there aren´t many good multiplats this days, Dragon Age Inquisition (also on PC, XBO, X360, PS3) and little more. Few games to justify a console, but anyone blame it for anything just because its selling fine and is having quantity, but no quality. And The amount of great exclusives on WiiU is just growing up, now there´s a drought, but then we´ll have at least 2 of the best games of this year. Between May and December there´s an average of 1 retail exclusive per month... there´s any other dev making that amount of exclusives for their console?. Of course NOT. If that´s leaving the console to die...sorry they are not GOD, they can´t make the same amount of games that a console with 30 third-parties supporting them. And still most of the top games of this generation are.... yes on WiiU, the console that ony Nintendo support. Give them a little credit.

Nintendo fucked it up at first and now they have to keep the WiiU floating just with their titles... and they are doing it! I don´t know if any other developer would be able to support a console in the same way.

I don't understand why you write off thid-party multiplatforms altogether only mentioning Dragon Age: Inquisition, which actually isn't all that great. There's tons of awesome third-party multiplatform games out there that the WiiU is regrettably missing.

As a huge Nintendo fan I could not agree more. Most Nintendo fans skipped the Wii-U for a reason, be it the weak hardware, the lack of games, the lack of 3rd party support, the lack of adult games, the misplaced or nonexitent marketing, the unreasonably high price, or the stupid tablet. If Nintendo fans bought a Wii-U, system sales would be much much higher.
