Also... ever notice that certain casual games are still selling in the millions on the Wii console? Just Dance 2015 (released 10/2014) has sold 1.65 units on Wii. The Wii U has failed in cornering the casual player market that helped them explode in 2006-2007. The good news it's not too late if they can figure out how to reach these consumers. Maybe, prompt Wii users to download a Wii U preview channel when they log into their Wii console. Tapping back into this casual demographic will be key because let's face it - most people who are super ultra pumped about buying Zelda U - Xenoblade already own the console. There aren't many more people in this hardcore /nostalgic demo that they need to reach still.

Yeah, i think that a Just Dance only on Wii U and not on Wii will help. :D

How so?

you saying that wii u will only sell around 3m this year "regardless". saying a good pricecut would only make it sell another 2m. saying it would mean a huge loss for nintendo, remember wii u has been $299 for over 2 years, a pricecut to $199 wouldn't make them lose money.

I mean they are likely to sell 3 million this year if no price cut happens, that's what I meant by regardless. Also the OP said 5 million with a $150 price cut, I'm saying if it takes that huge of a cut to increase sales by 2 million then it's simply not worth dropping the price so low. And Nintendo would certainly be losing alot money on Wii U if they cut the price in half this year.

That would be amazing. Preferably if it reaches 15m exactly.

But Nintendo being Dumb, Stupid, Ironically Naive and Dumb, Wii U or 3DS will NEVER be launched in China, rest of Europe and a few other potential countries.......

I think you are right.. AND Nintendo confirmed this to..

They said that china is a different marked, and they will release some who fits that marked.. Will be interesting to see what.. a handheld with phone cabebilits.. the fusion.. other.. we don't know.. but they will for sure release some.. :)

And to the people saying Splatoon and Mario maker issent big system sellers.. LOL.. Mariomaker has "braintraning" potential.. and even splatton could very easily take of..

Ontopic.. WiiU will get to 5 mill+.. in the current state.. (they did 3,6 mill last year) a "syko" pricedrop to 150$ would make it beat even playstation..

Much more relevant when talking WiiU sales (not a scenario) is when will the amiibo game come.. and when will zelda.. and when will the pricedrop to 279$ happend..

A new model (think DS to DS lite) could also happen.. and release this year.. (better battery.. upad screen and design)

so far, wii u seems to be up yoy without any noticeable releases. that by itself means it's likely to sell 4.2m+ with no pricecut and no major boost from any game. that's the main math issue.

$149 would make them lose money. $199 with no game wouldn't.

Ok so ur just further proving my point that a huge price cut is pointless if it goes from 4.2 million with no price cut to 5 million with a 50% price cut.

Why do u keep bringing up $199? The op said it would go down to $149, what u are saying is irrelevant

Well, considering the Wii U is up YOY 20 percent so far and seems to be continuing that trend, along with the fact it sold roughly 4 million last year, it doens't seem that far fetched. The more that get it, the more people talk about it, realize it's a great system, plus with some possibly big sellers this year, it actually seems kinda possible.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Yeah... We all know that won't happen!

Splatoon and Mario Maker will not move many units, even in bundle form. A magnificent E3, price drop and heavy, HEAVY zelda marketing will make it more likely.
