It would be completely idiotic for them to reduce the price when they are such a superior leader, they will have a lead through the holidays even without a big AAA title, but they might loose the US.

On the other thread, I had a $100 pricecut as my bold prediction, but now, I think it's more likely to happen. Considering that this will be the PS4's very first proper pricecut, it will move a ton of hardware worldwide. While Uncharted 4 is delayed, the PS4 still has other exclusives to work with such as Disgaea 5, Dragon Quest Heroes, and Persona 5. The latter two will be very good games to bundle with the console.
E3 and Gamescom are coming up, so we can expect other exclusives to come out over the fall and holidays. Ratchet & Clank Redux, for instance, will be a very good game to release at that time frame.
I wouldn't surprised if they give it a $100 price cut.

| spemanig said: Lmao, what the hell are you talking about? Sony could bundle the PS4 with a bottle of cold piss for $399, and it would still dominate this holiday. Let's not act like the PS4 was truly in dire need of U4 to sell. |
Are you sure about that because Sony did not dominate last Holiday so chances are not having something big this Holiday while the competition does could actually be a concern for Sony. Nothing kills momentum then hurbris.

PS4 has multiplats, which may as well be exclusives if Destiny is indicative of anything.
As sad as this makes me (3 years without a new ND game, woe is me), at least we know UC4 isn't being rushed to market. As others have said, i'd rather it be delayed and complete than get a lesser experience sooner (*cough* LBP3 *cough*).
Sony really need to find something else to focus their holiday marketing on now though. A price cut could potentially be all they need to stave off most of what MS does, and fortunately they still have plenty of pre-holiday releases, but going the entire holiday without any major exclusive releases would be pretty depressing.

I don't think sony would let naughty dog delay if they didn't have a good backup plan. Look at how carefully this this gen has been played and their systematic destruction of any competition. Patience, young grasshoppas.
Sooner or later they'll probably have to make a price cut. I'm waiting for a 299€ PS4 or a PS4 Slim. (and for more JRPGs)

As I theorized. I knew Uncharted was too good to be true coming out this year. Naughty Dog are not the type of devs. who would rush something out the gate. That being said, Sony still has one more 'wild card before E3, and that is Arkahm Knight. While it may be exclusive, it does have exclusitivity from Sony, so Sony is bound to have a price before or even during E3. If not at E3, then August, or rather during Gamescom seems to be the perfect opportunity, since that has been one of the PlayStations strongest events.

I think Sony will instead try and money hat MGSV for exclusivity through the holiday season and move that further into fall 2015 (October?).
And cut to $349.99.
The system is selling very well, there's no need to panic and drop a full $100, it's just leaving a lot of money/profit on the table.
