Forums - Gaming - With the Uncharted 4 delay, a PS4 for $299 later this year does not feel far off.

Release Ratchet and Clank and a big surprise instead within that timeframe something from Sony Bend, Guerilla Cambridge or Quantic Dream or Shell the last Guardian for all I care.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

That's what I think. XOne will have a huge lineup advantage this fall (Halo, Forza, Tomb Raider vs. nothing), PS4 will need to lower the price to be competitive.

I do wonder what Sony plans to do game-wise this fall. Do they have a surprise announcement, or will they just put their fate in 3rd parties' hands and try to ride MGS, FIFA, CoD, AssCreed wave.

Definitely bad news for PS4 owners, after a string of poor to mediocre exclusives, the most anticipated one gets delayed significantly.

MGS5 holiday season timed exclusive. I'm calling it now.

Its not bad news though, as I keep saying " to a single console holder every game is an exclusive"

We really need to stop talking like only exclusives matter, if that were remotely true the PS4 won't have the kinda emphatic global lead it has now.

The thing is honestly I don't exclusives are as big of a deal as "console warriors" on sites like these make it out to be.

The PS4 got termed the "console to buy" early in the gen because they made better design decisions than MS did with the X1 (banking on Kinect 2.0, underpowered chip, too much on TV/non-gaming).

But now it creates a cycle, if my friend has a PS4, then given a choice between a PS4/X1, I'm buying a PS4. Because I want to be able to play Madden NFL/NBA 2K/Call of Duty/etc. with my friend online.

I think really that's more of the thought process with the "average Joe" gamer. All this stuff about exclusives and release list dick measuring doesn't factor into their purchase decision as much as people here think.

I was thinking more along the lines of a exclusive marketing deal plus the bundle a la Destiny.

well there is that too, but we alreqdy know (SFV) that Sony has it in them to secure third party exclusives and we all know that kojima is a PlayStation fanboy. MGS5 is one of the few games to even run at 720p on the XB1.

As it stands the game is pretty much a PS4 exclusive in Japan, everyone knows that its sales worldwide will be heavily in favour of the PS4. So if there is one big game this year that Sony can secure it will be this game. I mean they are also making a PS4 MG's bundle too, destiny all over again just that this time they may take it the extra mile.

I expect to see a price drop to $299 in august at gamescom, and then the red PS4 mgs5 bundle at $350 in September.

Not a chance of a $299 price with them being so far ahead in sales.

I'm sure people at Sony aren't stupid and at E3 they will announce something to "fill the hole" left by uncharted. Any way don't you see the sales?

Xbox so far has many more and better exclusives and anyway ps4 sells more so if i was Sony i wouldn't be worried.

Xbox will have its third pricecut before PS4 does their first.

Even with no major D's exclusives , XB1 won't win globally this fall. The gap will not decrease. XB1 will not make up the difference in the UK. Maybe catch up and pass in the US. Sony has no reason for a price cut any time soon.

I think we would see a US$ 350 one at best and probably only during BF/holidays. They are leading by far, they will only want to fill their pockets. Price cut in 2016.

However, do expect some crazy bundles like 350-400 bucks with 2 games.

I don't see them dropping the price because sales are so strong plus they need ti turn a profit. I'm glad the are not rushing uncharted 4. It'll be a proper next gen game
