Forums - Gaming - With the Uncharted 4 delay, a PS4 for $299 later this year does not feel far off.

They dont need to do anything. They did fine last year, and they will do fine this year. I can see a pricecut coming, but not because of this.

I assume when you say that the XBO will decrease the gap substantially, you mean in the US (where I can see it passing the PS4 ltd this fall)? Because I still don't see the XBO ourselling the PS4 globally, at least not if the PS4 gets the 50$ price cut I was expecting regardless of UC or not.

What if Destiny 2 come this year

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Lmao, what the hell are you talking about? Sony could bundle the PS4 with a bottle of cold piss for $399, and it would still dominate this holiday. Let's not act like the PS4 was truly in dire need of U4 to sell.

Well now i'm talking exclusivly about the holiday and XboxOne will be having Halo 5,Forza 6,Tomb Raider and Fable. This year the XboxOne will have a big lineup for the holiday shopping unlike last year and PS4 really don't have a game(BIG) that's being released during that period. They will need to have something to combat and not swing people to the XboxOne. Now maybe things will look different after E3 but I really doubt they will announce a BIG exclusive game to be released this year for the holiday.

I don't see why they would cut the price. They are still outselling the competition and even in the months where the Xbox One was able to compete sales wise the PS4 was still selling quite well. With Sony's current financial situation, I think they are more likely to give up a small % of their market share this fall to ensure that the console stays profitable, similar to what Nintendo has been doing just to a lesser degree.

I think it's possible we see another big bundle like the GTA/LoU one, possibly with a temporary price cut but I don't see it going down to $300 unless MS decides to reduce their price even more.

Hasn't it already been stated that Destiny 2 is on pace for a Fall 2016 release? I could be misinformed.

I don't think so, that's a devaluation of their product... which is selling a lot right now.

There didn't mention anything about Destiny 2 i think  but i believe the IP will be a yearly IP

As a PS4 only owner I am getting more and more impatient. I would have sold it long ago if it wasn't for Until Dawn and Silent Hill Reboot. I'm a big survival horror fan but the PS4 has done nothing to disappoint. XB1 is starting to feel like more value for a lower price.

A 299$ PS4 would be happening whether UC4 launched this year or not. No PS console went for more than 2 years without receiving a $100 price cut.
