The Wii didn't have competition... When the 360 and ps3 dropped to a close price range and released motion controls the Wii died....

Are you serious? The Wii didn't have competition? You have got to be kidding me. 360 + PS3 (26m) was more competition than XB1 + Wii U (20m). And that second point has nothing to do with this thread. 

Quit undermining the success of others to make yourself (or rather, a piece of plastic) feel better.

So, we're going to compare a console that will probably sell around 16m this year to a console that sold over 24m in 2008? That seems like a fair comparison. The Wii was such a beast the first 4 years of it's life.
