Great news, good call MS.

Agreed.

Getting the games now, rather than what it was before (never getting them at all) is terrible news for any XBox One owner.

Personally I don't care about indies, but I will play them if they are good though (2 per year maybe). Now can you name 1 indie that was actually good that skipped XB1 becuase of the parity clause?

PS I doubt you find one becuase MSFT would let the good games through the clause.

Then this news is not for you.  This is for all the other Xbox One owners who would like to play the same quality indie games that are also on the PS4.  More power to them if Microsoft hasn't damaged the Xbox name bad enough already.

I will count this as a win for ps4 owners, definitely not a win for indie fans on XB1. Simple business sense tells me to release my product first on the console with the widest audience. XB1 indie fans have fun being second fiddle.

Bastion which was on XBL during the 7th gen is just now making over to the Playstation platforms. Just saying.

This makes absolutely no sense. Because PS4 has the widest audience and the most open policies, it was gonna get the indies, regardless. There's no "win" in that. How is it "not a win" for XBOne indie fans? Before, you weren't getting games. I don't care if you wanna add a qualifier of "the good ones got exceptions". That's an excuse, if nothing else, because there's plenty of great indies that couldn't come to XBOne due to their restrictions. But yea, you weren't getting games, 99% of the time. Now, you will get games 100% of the time.

I'd rather be second fiddle than be nothing.

So X1 indie fans having access to more indie games is not a win? What in the world are you saying?

What he is saying is that he's putting down indie fans and separating him from them (trying to paint the false picture that he's better than them) as if it the change in policy has virtually no effect on him to help justify his cause.

Cool so does this mean that indie devs will port their games to XB1 many moons later?.

As much good as people can see into this I don't see much of a change, sure by default now more indies can go to XB1 but it still doesn't change the fact that they will still most likely port later if at all and I can't see some staying exclusive to XB1, all I see is lack of relationship between then, it seems more like indie devs getting stomping rights while XB1 onwers aren't promised anything, it's now even easier for devs to still turn around and say "maybe later", nothing is going to stop them losing exclusives, but then again from what I'm going to be told "exclusives don't matter shape or form" and then I'm going to ask "why buy a console if it doesn't differ?", it is not something I'm asking to be defeated, it is something that stands as a reason, consoles are not something to be excluded from not providing unique or exclusive aspects in different areas whether it be services/software/games.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Good to hear.

On the heels of every XB1 being a dev kit, Win 10-XB1 simultaneous developemnt i think indies would be fine on XB1. Heck MSFt just announced about 30 indies at GDC, it's not like Xb1 fans were starved.

My point is the fact that if I am an indie developer, why on earth would I even care about the Xb1 version until after I complete the PC or ps4 verions. At least the parity clause offered some incentive to treat Xb1 indie gamers as equals.  Personally if there was an indie I wanted that wasn't moneyhatted, I wouldn't be happy waiting an extended period to finally play it.

Remember I only speak for myself, just my personal opinion, it is ok to disagree*
