No. Consoles and handhelds combined only accounted for a little over half of the industry's total annual revenue from last year, and that's only because of the new consoles causing a spike.

Game Boy/DS is no longer the go to portable device for kids. I haven't seen even one kid buying an Amiibo ... it's always late 20s/30 something year old Nintendo fanatics. So yeah this is becoming a problematic issue, Nintendo has the image of being a kids company ... except kids are overwhelming chosing othe options. 

Minecraft over Mario, iPad over 3DS, and when they get a little older it's all Call of Duty/Skyrim over Zelda.

I think not having a press conference is a really bad idea. Big news sites all report on E3 conferences with a concise summary of all announcements, even local sites do. I don't think the info given at those Tree House thing or even Nintendo's stream trickled down on such a level that even my local newspaper reported it, but they did Sony's conference where real journalists attend the show.

Tree House is a good idea but their press conference should be held alongside it. They will complement each other. We all know the reason they haven't done a conference lately, it's because they lacked content to show. Those E3 streams were 40 minutes long which would be a hell of a lot shorter in a press conference format cutting all the long demonstrations and pauses.

You are spot on. You can check old Nintendo E3 videos. Those videos proves your point.

it's called progress, time for Nintendo to get onboard and bring their good IP's to where the consumer is or risk becoming irrelevant in the future 

My brothers asked me what to get their kids to get them into gaming. They got 2DSs. Now all of a sudden they are Nintendo experts who know all things Nintendo. Or so much that it keeps their kids happy. I lent my brother my Wii U and then all of a sudden he loves it. Even set aside his usual CoD boxes because there are things he can play when alone or with his kid. Its kinda funny but without me he wouldn't have even known Wii U exists. Now he is hoping against hope that the next CoD finds its way onto the system.
